Don't know where to post this-need baby shower favor ideas?

I wasn't sure where to post this question since it is not wedding related, but since you ladies always have such great ideas I thought I would ask. I am helping my aunt throw my cousin and his FI a baby shower. She wants to do a unique favor instead of a typical chotchke (sp?) item. They are having a boy, if that helps.

hmm sorry I am not a lot of help here but what about some of the same types of things that people do for weddings like donations, like donating to the march of dimes in the name of all the guests? If I was going to a shower I would so much rather that than something that will sit in my house and collect dust.

these probably aren't very unique. but for my sil's shower last week, we got baby bottles and filled them with bath salts. We also had soaps made in the shape of baby blocks, purchased off ebay. i can find out the sellers name if you want they were really adorable.

Did you check out Cary's bridal shower favors, the homemade soaps? i loved them.

I agree with Christine about my favors collecting dust. But if you don't want to do a donation thing, I'm always a fan of food favors. Cookies are my favorite favor gift ever!

I've gotten favors at all the baby showers I've been too. Hmm. Maybe it's a regional thing?

For the two baby showers I've planned:

one- I bought pink bars of soap and wrapped them up in baby themed flannel to look like diapers. (I used small safety pins to fasten the cloth around the soap.) They were a hit.

For the one next month I am planning to make baby-themed shaped cookies. We don't know the gender for this one, so it makes things a little more difficult.

I think the mini baby bottles with bath salts is a great idea! You can probably find toy baby bottles at the dollar store.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
