I felt the need to start a new thread, because there are still threads on this first page from 2006. C'mon fellow Maui brides, we can do better than this. cheer2.gif Let's get some more topics started.

I'll start it off.

Are you planning any outings/tours for your guests while on the island?

We're coordinating a trip to Hana day as well as ziplining on another day.

Were going to organize a caravan to Hana. It's a scenic, twisty drive with great scenery along the way.

We're going to go ziplining in Kapalua. Here's the link: Kapalua Adventures Mountain Outpost Zip Line Tours - Kapalua Resort - Maui activities

I'm organizing a luau the following evening after our wedding/reception but probably not much more than that.. cause my budget is getting tighter and tighter!!!

We will be going to Hana on one day and inviting anyone who wants to come :)

I really would like to do a luau for my guests as a thank you... but we will have to look at the budget closer to the event. Our wedding is on the 30th, so I don't know if there will be a luau on New Year's eve (I doubt it). My wedding guests will not want to hang out with one another at all at any other point as a group (out of 14 guests, 6 are divorced from others within the group) It's going to be an interesting mix to say the least!

We are probably going to try to do at least one event with each couple. Ziplines and Hana are on the agenda, but we'll drive to Hana ourselves. The ziplines weren't there last time we were there so that's exciting. We're also planning to go up Haleakala and go snorkeling at least twice (we'll be there 2 weeks). I also think a helicopter ride would be amazing.. I might try to get one organized for Colin as a gift.

We are definitely going to do an open door helicopter ride.. but I think that will most likely be just Jayson and I. We will also go up Haleakala. I think each day we will just tell people what's on our agenda and if they want to join us they can feel free. Our budget is too tight to do more than the OOT bags, reception at Seawatch and the luau the following evening.

Hmm I will have to check and get back to you on that. We haven't booked anything yet, but know we want the ones with the open doors so we can take pics :)

I hear Blue Hawaiian is pretty good.. not sure if they have the open doors though.. I will find out and post again.

Both companies that we looked into are on the Ka'anapali side of the island. One was advertized in Hawaii magazine. Hawaii eco adventures ( or something along those lines) and we are going to Kapalua for ours (which is located at Kapalua Resort). We love watching the AMazing Race & they always seem to have ziplines on every race....we were psyched to see it as an option in Maui!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
