Whooohooo! Our rates went down!!!

Recommended Posts

Our TA just got the final contract for our group of rooms and the rates are acutally lower than we were origionally quoted!

It sucks because I JUST sent out a post card with "actual rates" but I don't think $20 per night would make or break anyone...just maybe make them a little happy when they book :)

Origional Prices we were quoted (per night) & new prices

Single - $412 now $397

Double - $452 now $422

Tripple - $654 now $609

Quad - $840 now $780

Like I said, not a huge difference...but at least it's something!

That's great news! It might sound sneaky, but I would consider keeping the extra to cover an additional party or something there. $20 to each person is not a lot spread out over a week (or however long) but if you have to pay $1000 for a reception, that's a lot out of your pocket. Just a thought...

Yes, it's AI...and the resort is going to lose money with our group!!!! Most of our friends plan to be trashed from morning to night LOL I told them that's fine as long as they can function the day of the wedding!

Our TA is going over it with a fine tooth comb right now. I agree that every bit counts! Especially since we have some singles with money issues who want to come and share rooms...this way, the Quad works out to $198 per person per night...All food, drinks, taxes, gratuities included (although, people usually tip anyway, but they don't have to)

Haha, we learned during our 2004 trip, that a couple of tips in the beginning on the night help to get your drinks strong! I actually had to have FI go back and get me a soda so that I could dilute my drink, it was SOOO strong I couldn't drink it!!!!!

We have some big drinkers as friends! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
