Excursions for Guests- Negril

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been brought up before but has anyone pre-planned excursions for all the guests or do you wait until you get there to book them?

We're probably looking at close to 50 people so i'd rather book ahead of time if possible.

Also, there doesn't look like there's too many excursions from Negril, any suggestions on the goods ones?

Thanks!

From what everyone has told me, the one place that you need to go in Negril is Rick's Cafe and watch people (or do it yourself) dive off the cliffs. Most of the excusions are in Ochos Rios that I am aware of. I have only been to Jamaica once and I was in Montego Bay. I would try either your TA or talk to the resort that you are going to stay at. I am sure they will have suggestions.

Have fun planning,

Heather

I'm not really planning a group excursion as ours is going to be pretty small, prob 7-10 ppl including us. We might do a trip to Ricks, but I think the ppl in my group will kind of just play it by ear, since we don't have a huge group. The waterfall excursions look neat, but are pretty much an entire day with the trip there/back from what I have seen online. So, some ppl might not go for an entire day used up. I personally would like to go to YS Falls or Mayfield Falls, so FI & I might. We did the Dunn's River falls last time we were in Jamaica. It was beautiful, unique and something you do once in a lifetime I think. However, it was kind of hard physically in some parts IMHO, so did it once, but wont do again type of thing. Just my 2 cents.....

Yea, it might have to end up being all the guests just booking their own, it would be nice though to get a group together for a fun excursion.

I see you're having your wedding at the couples negril, we were just there in January, we loved and would have gone back if we didn't have kids in the group.

I went to Mayfield falls when I was in Negril. You should definitely check it out. It wasn't crowded with too many people, and they gave a great tour of the river and the natural wildlife. The guides are pretty laid back and there is no rush at all. I had a great time when I went.

Thanks a lot Myda, appreciate your input. I don't know/heard from anyone that has actually gone here, so glad to hear you'd recommend it. Sounds like type of place we would really like. Thanks so much!

Hey there! Great to hear you liked your couples negril stay! Since we didn't do a site visit, you just never know, so great to hear from someone on BDW who's been there. Can't wait, been on the Couples website a bunch. Have you decided where in Negril you are having your DW yet? (Apologize if you posted it somewhere & I missed it! lol)

I requested and got a whole detailed list of excursions from a company called Talk of the Town. They came highly recommended, but we didn't do any of them! If anyone wants it, PM me with your email addy and I'll send it to you.... or contact them directly, as my prices may be out of date now!? But it would still give you an idea of all your options.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
