I know that there is a big Hilton thread, we are out numbered by Dreams girls, and there was a Sheraton thread started a while back too. So I though, why the heck not.. Let's start the official RIU thread. I've included the links to many other RIU conversations, please feel free to add others if you find them. I thought maybe it might be easier for the new RIU brides to have all the info at their fingertips. Please remember, not everybody's experience will be the same, and of course prices are subject to change without notice.

Hi girls! I know most of you are getting married in Cabo. I have been there...it is just beautiful! We are getting married in Cancun (RIU Palace Las Americas or RPLA) since we wanted to go somewhere we have never been.

I am looking forward to sharing info and experiences! I will try to figure out how to upload some pictures that were given to me by the WC.

I saw those pics! I want a fire pit now!!! How cool! I don't even know if that is an option for Cancun! Wow!

Even though I'm not a RIU Bride, Stephanie that was so nice of you to organize the thread for the other RIU Brides. And though I am not getting married there to all the new girls feel free to ask me anything (since I am getting married in Cabo as well) and I will help as best I can. Happy planning everyone!

So we finally make our own thread and now I realize that we aren't using it much at all. I thought I would post this for more of a bump than anything else.

I emailed Adriana to see what to reserve our beach reception and see what the price is to use a LCD projector and screen for the evening so we could show a short picture presentation of DH and I while we were growing up and some pics together etc. Well guess the price they quoted me? no higher! Nope, I'm sure it's still higher......well it was $650 dollars!!!! Now to me that sounds totally ridiculous. Was anyone else planning on doing this?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
