What Day of the week are you/did you have your ROR wedding?

Arriving on a Sunday...wedding on the Wednesday. Keep in mind you have to be in the country for 2 days before they can marry you. The "2" days cannot be your arrival date or a weekend - at least a sunday wink.gif

We got married on a friday at 12, and there was only one other wedding at 4pm that day. We arrived on the Thurs, got married 8 days later, then had 6 days to relax, had to do it that way as some guest only came for 1 week.

We saw weddings the weekend before ours where there was up to 4 a day, but only really on the Fri and Sat, the other days, although not a day ( apart from Sun) went by without a wedding, usually only 1 or 2, spaced out, per day

We are flying in, with almost every one of our guests, on Wed. Nov. 12th and getting married Saturday Nov 15th. The weekends are a bit more expensive for airfare so a Saturday wedding allows people to fly in during the week and save a little bit of money. We planned on leaving the 19th but we might stay a little bit longer.

I really would want it on a mon-thur but Jan 22 is my fiance birthday and he really wanted it on that day.. well see what happens :)

Thanks again!
I would be really nervous about guests flying in the day of, flights get delayed and canceled and the ride from the airport is unpredictable, not to mention that a day of travel is quite tiring. Just mho

I agree with you Courtney. I am a bit leary of having guests come in the day before, let alone the day of which is why most guests are arriving on Thursday (some on Wednesday with me) and the wedding is on Saturday. Because alot of them will be getting in late and with the way flights are arriving late or being cancelled, I want them to get to Jamaica relax then get prepared for the day of fabulosity...lol

I agree! My TA strongly advised not even having them fly in the day before, just in case. (Especially since we are leaving from MN in January...and ya never know with weather). So most of my guests will be coming Sat for our Monday wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
