Great choice with the Riu Jalisco as I got married there in October! Your family will love it there because it has so much to offer. Check out my slide show if you want, link is in my siggy. If you have any questions let me know.

Welcome to the forum, happy planning :0)

Wow, thanks everyone!

Raeka, I viewed your pictures, and they're gorgeous! I will definitely have to pick your brain. I'm most concerned about bad reviews I've seen of the resort on trip advisor...

Welcome and Happy Planning! I have been to the Riu Jaliso. I is a very nice resort. My family of 10 went last year and brought children. There was something there for everyone. The only negative I can really say is that it's about a 1/2 hour from town and a $25 cab ride each way. That can add up if you like to do those things. But other than that it was a great time.

Good Luck!

Pick away wink.gif I read alot of negative reviews before I went too. But I just thought you can't please everyone. For the most part i loved the resort. The grounds are very well taken care of and it's a beautiful resort. It's so big it's amazing they keep it up the way they do. All 55 of our guests were very impressed and I think they all said they would go back in a heart beat.

Good point! A few of our guests took the bus into PV (it's only 10 pesos) and said it was a fun experience. Although it wasn't the experience for me, instead we took cabs. Be sure to negotiate the price of the cab BEFORE you get in other wise they can rip you off. It cost us $18 each trip which wasn't bad as long as you made a day out of it in PV. Buccerias is very close which has all the markets and shopping too. It's cheaper than PV as well, cabs are only $5 to get there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
