My daughters dress (flowergirl) is very similar, except it's a white strapless a-line with white tulle peeking out on the bottom. Yesterday my stepmom said she would sew in some teal colored tulle under her dress. I am so excited to see how it will turn out.

Both of these dresses are really beautiful. Im 5'2 myself so its good to know about the hollow to hem concept thank you ladies for the information. This will definately be something I will keep in mind when dress shopping.

Thanks! Let us see what you find when you find it! I never heard of hollow to hem either until now.

I'm 5'1" & wearing flip flops underneath, so my floorlength dress had to be chopped!!! No reselling this dress unless the bride is 4'10".

Thank you! I bought it last year at lanebryant.com Unfortunately they look like they are all out of dresses! It was only $89! However the original price was less then $150 to begin with!

I am going to wear something underneath to make it look more poofey. It sucks that my veil is like $289! - But it dresses up the dress some and to pay less than $400 for a dress and veil is nothing considering what some of the girls on this site have paid!

I really like the Alfred Angelo destination wedding collection. Perhaps a bit less formal, but several short ones. I'm 5 feet 1 and a quarter inches, and if I decide to go with a traditional wedding dress, I'll probably get something like one of these.

Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo.

I too am in the short boat. i am 5 foot even, but my mom still argues me down that I am 4 foot 11 3/4...

Hollow to hem, huh? Sounds like a good idea.
