Are you having your honeymoon at the same resort?

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I are wondering if we should have a completely separate honeymoon or just extend our stay at our resort. We love to see our families but will want some time to relax and unwind-ALONE-after the wedding.

So, how many of you are having it in the same place? Is anyone going somewhere else? I originally wanted my wedding in Jamaica so we will probably go there if we can afford it!

We are getting married at Dreams Tulum and staying there for two weeks. It will only be immideate family and they'll be arriving a few at a time before the wedding so we get to spend some time with smaller groups before the wedding and then everyong at the wedding on Saturday. All but two couples are leaving on Monday(my sis+hubby and friends) so we get to spend time with them till Wed. After that we will still have about a week to ourselves. We had thought about moving to another resort closer to Cancun, but decided against it since we didn't want to be dissapointed with a second resort if it didn't live up to DT. We couldn't afford to go higher than Dreams so weren't gonna risk it. Plus seeing family is part of the specialness of our trip. good luck decided, it's totally personal preference.

We originally weren't going to take a seperate honeymoon so we booked our return flights home from Cabo, but then we decided we wanted to do something by ourselves so we are going to California (Napa/ Wine Country) for 4 nights. You can look into doing something in the states to save yourself some money. Also we figured we will be on the beach/ at the pool for 8 days in Cabo, so we wanted to do something completely different for our honeymoon.

We plan (hopefully) to do the wedding with family/friends over a 4 day period (with us having arrived a few days earlier) and to return home... and then head off on our HM a few weeks later... toward the end of 2008/beginning of 2009 - as prices are ridiculous over Xmas/New Year!

We hope to go on a cruise... maybe 10-14 days. And it will be great to get home after the craziness of the wedding, relax a little and then have 'our' time to look forward to! I can't wait! I am in serious need of a vacation now!

We are doing the same thing as Marnie&Peter. We are getting married in Costa Rica. Some friends are coming down early and some are staying on after the wedding. The wedding is a 3 day weekend with a rehearsal dinner/bonfire on Friday, Saturday wedding, Sunday brunch and sunset snorkel. We are staying until Tuesday to hang with the guests and traveling to other locations in Costa Rica for 10 days for the honey moon.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
