Chicago - how was the site visit??
Opice, I am here literally on the edge of my seat b/c I can't wait to see all your pics. How did your flowers turn out? Which florist did you go with, the ones the Hilton usually uses??

Congratulations, and I'm so happy to hear that everything went perfectly for you!!! *MWAH!*

Hey Ladies!

Opice- Glad to hear everything was fantastic!!!!

We ended up not doing our site visit this past weekend... I had to go to Germany for work last minute and just got back from there the other day. We are going (for sure) Dec 18- 21. This actually gives us two full days down there... and my parents are coming with us too!

Hi Hilton Brides!

I am a Newbie to this forum so I have found all of your postings to be absolutely fantastic!!!! cheer2.gif

I have been researching several places in Cancun for a possible destination wedding but after reading all of your helpful advice I am practically sold on the Hilton! It sounds so amazing and perfect for what my FI and I are looking for (i.e. - kid friendly, large group accomodations, reasonable pricing for guests), not to mention the site visit pics (thanks for those!) posted by others and looking at the Hilton websites pics!

I am sure that I will be breaking some sort of etiquette rule here so feel free to rant at me if I am, but would anybody be willing to share the estimated cost of their wedding at the Hilton with me? I know money is one of those things that my mom says I'm never supposed to talk about but my FI and I are going crazy!!! ALL of the books say plan a budget, etc. etc. but we have no real clue what destination weddings cost for people (we are the first in our circle to even consider one) and we find ourselves at a loss for how to start planning when we don't (realistically) know what to expect in terms of pricing. Plus, we are getting ready to break the news to our parents about our plans for having a destination wedding and having some kind of price range would make it that much easier on us!! I would be SO GRATEFUL for any advice or info and feel free to PM me if you aren't comfortable posting that kind of info to the forum.

Thanks again to everyone for any help you can give and also for being so thorough and helpful in your postings! It makes it a lot easier on those of us out here who are just beginning to plan!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Hello! First of all - where are you from in KS? I was born and raised in KS, and two years ago moved to south Texas, but I miss it every day...I'll be home for Xmas though, and I hear its been snowing!

Anyhow, WELCOME to the Hilton Cancun forum! It is seriously such an awesome resort, I think you will love it! We are all here to help each other out and answer questions, so ask away!

As far as budget, everyone's budget typically is different. It really depends on the size of your wedding. We are having a small, intimate gathering of no more than 40 guests (it will probably be around 30)...and the entire budget for our wedding is $30K (not including honeymoon in that number). BUT, thats just us. Some people have a lot larger weddings for the same amount, and some for a lot more. And then you hear about people that have great destination weddings for under $10K. You should just set a budget that is realistic for you, and try to stick to it. Hilton is good at accomodating weddings on practically any budget! There are also a bunch of budget threads on this site...I would search for "Budgets"...here is one big thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t933

Hope that helps!

Thanks Jessica!! I will post my pro pics as soon as I have them - should be soon! And I went with Mayra (I don't think I'm spelling that correctly, but it was the less expensive option) and the flowers were great! (I think the florist office name is Mariposa or something like that? Fernanda will know.) They didn't look exactly like the pictures I had sent, but I had sent the pictures months ago and couldn't find the picture again closer to the big day. But it didn't really matter because they were gorgeous anyway!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
