We put a Travel Information page on our wedding website that had 3 sections: Flight Info, Accommodation Info and Transportation Info.

Flight Info - we listed the major cities that most people would be travelling from and the major airlines that fly direct from that city to Cancun. We also listed the time zone change from that particular city.

Accommodation Info - We listed soms details and the pricing of the rooms at the Hilton, and provided a link to our personal Hilton website so that they can book their rooms. We also listed the phone # and the event code in case they would like to call. Oh yes, and we stated the deadline to book a room.

Transportation info - We described the Gray Line airport shuttle and the local bus that takes people up and down the strip.

Opice,

How exciting about your site visit - do you have any pics you could share?? What kind of meetings did you attend? Which florists did you meet with, and what flowers have you decided on? Sorry for all the questions, but I'd love to hear how it went and what you decided on! I need to see if I need to have a planning site visit...that is, if I can afford it with the way gas prices/flight prices have been idk if it is in the budget...

I'm also glad to hear that Fernanda is swamped, kind of - haha, so we finally know that she isn't just blowing us off (not that I ever though she was, but you know what I mean).

Indy,

OMG have a wonderful time we're all sooo excited for you! Have a blast and don't sweat the small stuff! :)

I can't wait until Indy gets home!!!!

Jessica - the planning visit was GREAT, but I don't think it's necessary. They could email you pics of everything you need to see.

I'll post more later, but I'm thinking my bouquet will be white cala lillies, the BMs will hold little fuschia rose bouquets (tight and little), Groom bout will be a white cala lily, GMs bouts will be fuschia roses, fuschia and white petals down the aisle, fuschia and white pomanders hanging from the gazebo...

I may replace the fuschia roses with pink gerber daisies. Do you guys think that's okay? Cala lillies seem so elegant to me and gerber daisies seem so casual, but I love gerber daisies! Do you think I could do those two together??

Jessica - what flower did you decide? And what food are you serving?

Finally heard back from Fernanda! She's working on our contract right now! She actually has responded really quickly this week - hopefully that's a good sign!

Opice - we're booked for the week before you - November 8th. Any pictures you have to share would be great.

Can't wait for Indy to get back so we can all see her pictures.

Opice,

I think those flower combos sound great! Plus, it is whatever you want!! :)

I have not decided on flowers yet...

And for menu I'm doing the carribbean salad, the duet of salmon/filet, and the flan cheesecake for desert...yummy!! What did you decide on?

kelcrooks,

She just got me my contract, so you should def get yours soon! I feel SO much better now!!

All (especially Opice),

HELP! Speaking of the contract...so I'm thinking I'm running into that whole "insurance" dilemma. You know, the one that you negotiate out of the contract? Was this what it says about it in the contract? "You further agree to obtain and keep in force General Liability Insurance covering the event described in this contract with the limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurance & to provide the hotel with a Certificate of Insurance naming Hotel, Hilton, and the owner as an additional insured for your event" Ok so I emailed her and told her I wanted it taken out (is that what everyone else did?) and she said that there are a few companies in the US I can go through to do this. Did anyone else have to do this? what.gif

Yes, and I called the companies she gave me and they had no idea what I was talking about. I would do that, if I were you. Call them, they'll tell you they don't insure events in Mexico, and then you can give Fernanda that message. That's what I did and she took it out. The US companies basically laughed at me when I called and asked for insurance for a wedding in Mexico.

Gotta run...more later! Hugs!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
