Ok look how hard it was for me to get a siggy! I am a completely impaired when it comes to technology. I don't even own a digital camera! Ahhh I need to get with the program. I'm still trying to scan a Napa Valley article for Christine and that was like months ago. LOL. I am a mess when it comes to posting pics. I think I may buy a fabulous fake ring and just use that. It actually doesn't bother me at all, not to have the real ring. I'd rather it be safe at home and it will give me peace of mind. But yes I do need to insure it immediately!

we actually picked up my FI's ring the other day and we will for sure be bringing our rings. But we don't have customs to go through, so that makes it easier.

Glenda-don't worry about the article, does Tiffany's have a pic on their website?

We will use the safe at the Riu Cabo. I have stayed at 4 of their resorts and we have never had any problems. We actually got engaged there so my FI locked up the engagement ring in the safe initially. I have heard of money missing on Trip Advisor but our experience was great and we did not have nay problems.

We brought our rings and just hid them in a pair of socks in our drawer. They aren't going to go ransacking your room to find them, but probably have a better chance of them dissappearing if they are in plain site or in the safe (if they can break into it). People know that you put valubles in the safe. So if they have access, that is probably the first place they's look. I have heard of some girls pinning them on the inside of their wedding dress in a little sachet.

But I agree. Just tip the maids everyday just to be safe.

I'm too late to this thread but here's my opinion:

I wouln't leave my ring home 'cause I love using it.. I think the hide it in a pair of socks idea is great.. I might do that..

My ring isn't insured.. It's hard to find how to insure it in Mexico sad.gif I would die if it was stolen.. but I bet there can be something the hotel could do to make you feel safe about leaving it.. I would definetly ask them..

I honestly hadn't really thought about this, and I will DEFINITELY be bringing my rings... it's all about the wedding!

I will make sure they are insured, and be sensible. These things do happen, and you can get unlucky, but I think it's unlikely if you're sensible, and you will have the insurance for the worst case scenario...

I wouldn't go without it on the big day!!

Wow I never really thought about this either when we went down but I brought my e-ring and we also brought our bands! For us though, well I wore my e-ring everyday (just on my right hand during the ceremony) and we actually didn't have anyone clean our rooms until mid-week (when our wedding was) so no-one came into our room and got a chance to go through anything while our valuables where there! We just put the do not disturb up and then the morning of our wedding we took everything with us and got our room cleaned then...and everyday after that but then we weren't worried cause we were wearing our rings! Oh and we tipped the cleaners on a daily basis too but it worked out great and no-body got anything taken out of our group of 52 and we were staying right downtown PV on the beach!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
