Las Caletas in May vs. November?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I am trying to decide on May vs. November to get married at Las Caletas and am hoping for some help! Am I crazy or will a November wedding ceremony start once the sun has gone down?

I have never been to PV before so I am basing all of my assumptions on the information I have read. It seems the weather in November is a little warmer at night and the water clarity is better. May would be my next option (trying to go when the rates are a little easier for everyone) so any information on either month would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thank you, Ann!

May looks like a great month, plenty of light. By any chance do you have any information on October? Sorry to ask for more, I kind of had my heart set on November (it seems like a good amount of time from now to save and plan) but sunlight is an issue so now im looking May or October.

Best,

Natalie

the only ones I see on my list for Oct. are Heather & Dan ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12556 and then the other one I gave ... sorry! I'm sure Nicole or Kelley could give you more details though. Or maybe Jamy or Lindsay (both LC brides on here) can give more details, since I know they've been to Caletas several times!

Hmm, I'm really not very much help...I've been to LC several times, but it's always been in February or March. We got married in February and had just enough time for photos before it got dark...that really doesn't help with November...other than the days start getting shorter from June through December, when they are shortest - and then they start getting longer again...(I think - unless I'm having a total blonde moment right now...!) (It's been awhile!)

Mid February is about 2 months after the days start getting longer - and October is about 2 months before the shortest day of the year...so maybe the sunset times would be similar??

Or maybe my brain is a 'lil mushy right now. I will see if I can find a sunset calculator for PV!!

Sorry for the long (and confusing) post!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
