I need to vent - I don't want to do this anymore

Celina I'm sorry that you feel stressed. I know a lot of people go through this especially as it gets closer since you really need to crunch numbers. But I promise that it will all be worth it in the end and you will be super happy.

I feel the same way! Now that the wedding is almost here I'm kinda freaking out! I have paid for most of the wedding myself, probably about 50/50 with my mom, but I have done every bit of planning.

You really do just have to look forward to the wedding and what it means. This is not just any other day, it's your wedding day so it should be treated as something special.

I've passed on lots of dinners and outings, but I keep telling myself I'll see those people at the wedding.

Men in general, or so it seems, just don't get it. I don't even think it matters what "it" is! LOL

Hang in there!

I think the trick to not getting down is to make living cheap more fun. Plan some cheap social events so it's not like you are stuck not doing anything because you are saving. You friends might be relieved to save some money & not need to go out that night too.

Instead of a group dinner out we'll do stuff like make a big batch of pizza crust & all make our own pizzas. Then BYOB & you have a cheap, fun party. We do board games instead of movies. We workout together, go for hikes, go to the gardens...I'm sure there are more. But, it's very possible to live cheap & still have a lot of fun. Today was a friends b-day. she is really trying to save so her & her husband can start a business. So instead of going out to dinner tonight, we met for lunch. We all brought our lunches from home & sat outside in the nice weather. it was much more fun than dinner at a restaurant.

The trick to being happy & living cheap is to be creative about it so you don't feel like you are sacrificing anything. Atleast that is what works for me.

In the end, it's totally worth it. Focus on the good stuff. It should help you get out of this slump and get excited about the wedding and trip.

As for your MOH, I think honesty is always the best policy. IF you can't afford it, you can't afford it. She should understand. Also understand if she can't afford it either and ends up not going. smile03.gif It will get better!
My FI is JUST LIKE YOU! I spoke to one of my BM's and she said she would give me the gift of $200 to help out my MOH. I can't find it in me to take her up on her offer. I have to really think the MOH problem out. She is the only one of all of my friends and family that I want there; that's why this is so hard for me.

You are right - it is something special and should be treated as such. I am going to keep your quote handy (next to all of my pics posted around the house) as a reminder. smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
