Okay - so this is the only other story I have about my mom. When this happened I was like - John Edwards aint got nothin on me! LOL!!

Six years ago my younger sister (who I recently disowned) - was turning 30. She and I are two years and 4 days apart. She had been depressed for about a week. She was so confused about her life. She had so many unanswered questions. About two days before her birthday, she was all sad and was like - "gee, I wonder if mom was in labor now. I wonder if she had a c-section or if she delivered and went home. I wonder what she was going through. As a mom, what was she thinking about my arrival into the world."

She was really down in the dumps about it. I could only be there to listen to her because I didn't have any answers. She was almost 2 when my mom died and has NO recollection of her at all. Honestly, I think the reason she is so flipped out right now is because she has always been looking for something and has never found it. She has a lot of unanswered questions and turmoil in her life because she grew up without her bio mom. Although we were in the exact situation, we processed it differently. I was able to absorb it and find peace and move along in life, both she and my older sister haven't been able to do that.

SO - During this time I had been working for the fire department for about 2 years and every year the Fire Chief would send out a bday card. His secretary (whom I had known for the 2 years - we would chat about work, and she was a nice lady) called me and said, "The Chief asked me to call you to tell you happy b-day because we are late getting cards out. He didn't want you to think we forgot about you". I said, oh no problem.

She said, "My daughter just had a birthday too".
I said, "Oh cool, how old is she?"
She said, she just turned 30.
I was like, wow that's cool. My sister just turned 30 too. When was her bday?
She said, "On March 12th".
I said, "OMG- my sister's b-day is March 12th too".
She was like - NO WAY!! What's your sisters name?
I said Rachel.
She said, "you are kidding me! Where was she born"?
I said, "St. Lukes here in Denver, we were both born there".
She said - "Celina this is so crazy! What is your mother's name"?
I said, "her name was Sally. Unfortunately she passed when I was 4 and my sis was 2".
She said, "OMG - Celina - your mother and I shared a hospital room when your sister was born!"
I said, "NO WAY - that is insane!!"
She said, "Celina - I have been journaling since I was a teenager and I KNOW I journaled during the time I was in the hospital with my daughter. I am going to see what I can find during my stay because I know I journaled some stuff about my talks with your mom. Would you mind if I sent you what I wrote? This is so cool!
I said, "ABSOLUTELY - this is so awesome Michelle. We don't know much about our mother, that would be wonderful".

2 days later she sent me copies of her journal pages from when she was in the hospital. In it, she wrote down in her own words all of the questions that my sister wanted to know about my mom. Some of them were that "her room mate was only there for a couple of days because she didn't have a c-section like me." She said that she loved her talks with her room mate "Sal" and that she had two little girls at home (I have an older sis as well). During their talks "both of us agreed that we just wanted our children to grow up to be beautiful, happy and successful women".

There was more detail in the journal - I just cant' remember it all. Is that crazy or what?!?!

I swear, during our most trying times, my mom has a way of presenting her self to me in the most unique ways. I think she uses me as her way to this side. Now that I think of it, I have always been the one to give my sisters information about my mom. I'll run into people who were friends with her. I have been the only one out of us three girls who this ever happens to.

Another thing that happens to me, is I am terrified to drive in the snow. Where I live it starts to blow across the highway on my way home and it's a total white out. Sometimes as I am gripping the wheel, trying to drive - I feel a warm sensation in my back like someone has put a hand on me. I know it's my mom. This has happened more than once. Probably about 3 times or so.

It's pretty amazing and I just embrace it. I think my mom sees that I am very different from my other sisters. Maybe it's because I am the middle child - who knows. Anyhow - I think it's way cool.

OMG how crazy it that? I love it. All that time you had known this lady and she had befriended your mom so many years back. I think I have typed this out before in another thread but here goes......

My friend Codi's Mom passed when she was four months old. It was sudden and unexpected. Codi got married last August and it was really really hard on her because we tend to rely on our Mom's so much through this process. As her MOH I was trying to hard to help her out. I in fact planned the whole damn wedding down to the Grooms Cake. She lives in West Texas which some of you may know is known for how dry it is and how it NEVER rains. She decided to dance with her Dad to a song called "holes in the floor of heaven" which is about a Mom passing and on the daughters wedding day it is raining and everyone is telling her how it's her mom crying wishing she could be there. So, August 18th comes (the day of the wedding) we wake up and not only is it raining but it is pouring so bad if you opened the truck door just long enough to get in the seat had an inch of water on it. I have never seen rain like this. The roads to the church almost flooded so bad we couldnt get there, but we did. They ceremony goes on and it's still pouring non stop. We all have to run to our vehicles to go to the reception. It is so flooded that I took my heels off and pulled my dress up and the water went to my mid calf!! We get to the reception eat etc. Then it is time for the first dance, it goes off without a hitch. Then the Father/daughter song (they are on a CD) starts and they start dancing. No sooner does it start, it is skipping. So bad they couldn't dance. She busts into tears and runs into the bathroom. I run after her and she is just balling. So, I go back out grab the CD run to my truck pull my truck up to the front of the building and put the CD in my truck. I go get Codi ( for some reason it wasn't raining) and drag her and her Dad out front and blast the song from my Truck. This is where I know her Mom was there with her.... The sun comes out just right above where we are and it's still lightening and thundering all the way around us. They dance to the song it doesn't skip at all and the sun is just shining down on them. Right after the song it starts pouring again. There wasn't a dry eye in that place. It was just sooo amazing and so obvious that her Mom was there and wanted to watch from the holes of Heaven. It rained 12 inches that day. Here is a picture you can can see the storm clouds behind them. Click the image to open in full size.

yes im sure! i love her, def keep me posted. its amazing when people have those abilities.

there was a man around my way that everyone talked about. he could predict things, he was all "strange" and people called him crazy. so anyway he would do private parties and people were amazed and it eventually got out, so he started taking apts. you'd have to wait a few months to actually see him. he charge $60 for 45 mins. so i went almost 10 yrs ago for the first time and believe me when i say he was stone real. he said things that no one else would have known. to this day i wont mention things b/c i am so weirded out by it. i felt like if i talked about it people would think that I was crazy for believing him, lol. he pretty much shut his eyes and babbled a ton of stuff at me that i wrote down, and he wrote things without even looking. he had 2 index cards and as he talked to me he'd write on the index cards but covered them so i could see. so as we were closing things up he says "what is your moms name?" i said "theresa" and he flips the cards over and there was my moms name! below that my sisters name, my roommates name, female cats name, and some others. the other index card had mens names on it, my dads, brother, a previous ex who was a lunatic, my pop pop's and my male cat!! i was blown away. so a few yrs ago i went again and sure enough told me things that were true. i had just gotten over breakup that i was still lingering on, he said was going to start a whole new life, and he had also told me to "watch out for XXX (friends name)..." here she was hooking up with my ex, and knew i still loved him and wanted to get back with him. it was NUTS! he did the cards again as well and same thing, named people I knew, some i didnt. there was the name "marie" on the card and i didnt know any marie's. but NOW my sil's name is marie. it is just really neat.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
