El Dorado Group Rate negotiations! errr!

Recommended Posts

1. Well, I found the promotion at http://www.luxurytraveloutlets.com/promo1.html. It is for 2008 (not 2009), but and I assumed it includes taxes since that is how I have always seen El Dorado rates quoted online.

2. I have been in touch with a travel agent but the rate she found wasn't very low, however I don't know for sure if she was doing it as a group rate or not.

3. I have been in contact with the hotel and at the moment the rates will go up by only $20.00 for 2009.

Thanks for checking for me! I know, I keep finding the hotel online for around $400.00 / night, but I was really suprised to find the promotion above, although it does mention something about mid week bookings...

I'm really at a loss for what to do on this, cause I don't want my 20 something friends unable to spend the three nights at the hotel because it is just out of their price range (@ $1,200 for 3 nights).

I did talk to Karisma reservations again today and the person I've been dealing with, Margherita, said she would check with the supervisor again considering the better rate I found. Not sure if it will do much good though....

2. usually travel agents can negotiate a lower group rate.

3. 2009 rates are usually going to be higher than 2008 rates

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
