A little dissappointed

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry you're disappointed. Everything will be fine in the end. Try not to focus too much on the change of plans so you can relax and enjoy when the date arrives.

On the bright side, you'll get to have another spa day to get ready!

Maybe your friend will skip the recital if you have the Bach. party on the same day. I went to a shower/Bach party b/c people in the bridal party lived on the West Coast (The shower was in Boston!) No one was tired - we loved it! It was so great having it all in one day. The Shower was early (brunch time) then a limo came and picked us all up for a afternoon/night in Boston! It was the most fun I have ever had! Plus everyone was able to attend both events. I live an hr away so it was even great for me! I wouldn't stress, do what works for you but I would reccommend combining both events. Good Luck!

I am going through a similar situation with my girls too... It's hard because you want to say "Hey you signed up for this, where's your commitment?" I doubt that his niece is going to remember that she wasn't there. But you'll remember forever that she wasn't there....priorities!

Even if not everyone can go to your shower, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

I got neither a shower not a bachelorette because I live out of town from my family adn old friends (although I have new friends here, but none as close as my elementary/high school girlfriends). I totally would have flown home for those events if anybody had tried to organize anything. Pitty party for me sad.gif Mom thought a shower was inappropriate since we are having a small destination wedding adn didn't invite extended relatives.

Just try to focus on the positives and be greatful that those who are there were able to make it.

I know how disappointing it can be when people can't make things we are looking forward to. I feel for you on that. I'm sure it will still be a good time though! Many people I love couldn't even make my wedding, but it didn't stop me from having a wonderful time.

I kinda disagree with the priorities of putting a shower over a niece's recital. While it may not be a big deal to you, it might be to her. I had some aunts that wouldn't miss some of my games for anything. Everyone has other things going on in their lives and it's somewhat unfair to assume that all things wedding related should be their top priority too.

I agree with the girls. I would have the shower and bachlorette party on the same day. Seems the easiest solution since people have to travel that far too! That's a lot to ask in my opinion.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
