If you've ever been to Jamaica... read this :)

Recommended Posts

I'm with the others, use common sense and don't do any exploring of random neighborhoods late at night and you should be fine. (you probably wouldn't be walking around a part of Memphis you aren't familiar with so it's the same thing)

We went out of the resort to someone's home and had a memorable time, but we got the trustworthy vibe from the person who invited us. We wouldn't have gone with some of the people who offered.

Recently I read some cruise reviews of people saying not to get off the boat at Ocho Rios because it is so dangerous but I wouldn't agree with that from my experience, that seemed a little extreme to me :P

I've only stayed at Riu Ocho Rios which I highly recommend :)

I have been to jamaica twice i wouldnt feel safe just walking out of the hotel.we took lots of trips and we never had any problems .the bus driver either stayed with us or agreed a meeting place and was always there.i found it best togo with just a few couples at a time not a whole van full. the driver spent lots of time telling ud=s interesting stuff.i preferred ocho rios i thought the beach was very narrow at negril .i loved the restuarant at the end of the island (CANT REMEMBER)the name very famous for watching the sunset and for the very brave to jump from the cliff.you will be approached to by stuff from beach vendors. we were offered drugs at negril which frightened me.i would love to go back sometime.do leave the resort but keep safe.i felt very safe and walked with my son through new york times square just last summer i wouldnt do that in jamaica.i have fantastic memories of jamaica.last tip dont get married before 4.00 unless you want to melt.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
