Basic information:

Mannia Cancun is a private DJ that serves Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Starting rates for 5 hours of service including lighting and a wireless microphone (as of 4/24/08 ) are $750 USD.

He also has a lighted dance floor and cold fireworks available for an additional cost.

His web site is: MANNIA - Audio, Video e Iluminación Profesional

His e-mail address is: manniacancun@hotmail.com or info@manniacancun.com.mx

The attached file contains a preliminary list of music that he provides when people inquire about his services.

I know several brides have booked him for their weddings, myself included.
I do not know of anyone who has actually had him for their wedding, but I'm hoping they'll chime in.

Hi, I was trying to open the lists of songs that DJ Mannia has and was unable to. Do you mind emailing it to me at yenciedejesus@yahoo.com? Thanks!

We just got back from our wedding at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and had DJ Jerry Dronx and Sergio Cantu from Mannia do the music for our wedding reception. They were awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend this DJ company to anyone getting married in the Riviera Maya!

Email contact with MANNIA leading up to the wedding was great. They were always quick to respond, usually within an hour. The week before the wedding, someone from Mannia emailed us to ask about the music we wanted played at our wedding. We gave them the songs we wanted played for our entrance, first dance, father/daughter, cake cutting, last song. We also gave a list of ~15 songs for dinner, and ~15 songs for dancing to give them an idea of what we liked. We figured they get great reviews for a reason so we wanted them to be able to do what they do best without us micromanaging. They assured us that every song we requested, they would have... and they did!

We had 26 guests, aged 20s-70s. It's hard to pick music for such a wide age range, so we told them we would like some classic and oldies songs to start off, and then hip hop once everyone loosened up a little. They played everything from Frank Sinatra, Eagles, Elvis, Jimmy Buffet, to Flo Rida, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, etc. EVERYONE was up and dancing together, even our grandparents! We did give them a few "do not play" songs which they had politely adhered to when guests requested those songs. We ended up telling the DJ during the wedding that whatever songs our guests requested was OK to play, even if it was on our "do not play" list, because our moms and aunts really wanted to dance to YMCA, haha.

The dimmed the lights and had nice pink lighting for our first dance and for the end of the night when everyone was up fast dancing. I thought it was a nice touch. As another bride mentioned, when they started playing the upbeat hip hop songs, they handed out the long white balloons for everyone. If I was told that before the wedding, I probably would have said "NO WAY". However, they were actually a huge hit! We all had a lot of fun dancing with them (and bonking each other with them, haha)!

They did announce the first dance and cutting of the cake and the last song of the night. We kind of had a "go with the flow" attitude about the whole wedding and didn't really give them any instructions on when to announce what, but we were happy with their timing of announcing. They were even so nice as to hand over the mic to my uncle who wanted to sing "Pretty Woman"! He sings well so it was really fun!

It sounds like any DJ from Mannia is great, but I personally had a great experience with DJ Jerry Dronx and Sergio. They did a great job at keeping the party going and everyone had a blast! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

After looking at the most recent post from Yencie who has recently traveled to Cancun and spoke with the Dreams Wedding Coordinator Cecilia. They have been having some problems with DJ Mannia. You may want to contact Yencie or vist the Dreams Cancun thread to read her review and feedback she got from Cecilia on his most recent work.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
