Hey ladies!

Just got back -- and used Carlos (DJ Mannia) as well!

BTW, Amy -- had no idea you'd booked him as well! So funny...he was at our wedding two nights later:-)

Only good things to say! I'll post a few pics when I get a chance so you guys can see the lit-up dance floor! It was super cool and totally set the mood. He played awesome tunes all night and even had colour-changing lights set up around the perimeter of the recpetion area. He also brought out some white balloons part-way through! Very fun:-)

I think we paid about $850 for four hours...but I don't think the dance floor cost us $600...maybe Amy had a bigger dance floor than we did? (You can rent different sizes...)

We had the one for 30 people, and I think it was closer to $300...but I can check that when I get home...

If anyone's interested, I did post some pics of the lit-up floor and set-up in my review (Simistar's Secrets Maroma Review, Dec. 7/0cool.gif ...

I think that the size of the dance floor changes, as does the cost, depending on how many people you have. So if Amy had more than 30 guests (plus her wedding was in Tulum), they'd have charged her more for the extra "squares".

I just booked Mannia, too! After reading all of the positive feedback, I'm happy I decided not to go with the iPod and docking station at Dreams Tulum! I think my guests will truly appreciate having him.

DJ Carlos did a fantastic job at my wedding. We provided an Excel sheet in advance of songs that we like (to help guide him) and songs we definitely did not want to hear. He started the night nice and easy to get people loosened up and then we had more fun, upbeat music at the end of the night. I've attached some photos from my wedding at the Royal that help illustrate the dance floor set-up. He surprised us with balloons later in the night, which was a blast. I did not have to pay extra for the lit up dance floor (the Royal provided it) but I'm not sure if this is applicable for all brides....please let me know if you have any questions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
