Help! Is it poor taste to have my reception at the all-inclusive resort's restaurant?

Recommended Posts

It's not tacky at all! Our reception will be at the resort (which is AI), but we still have to pay a price per person. I really don't think the guests will even notice if you have to pay for the reception or not. They're there to support you on your big day and they'll be too busy having a good time to worry about the reception being held at an AI.

They even give you a waiter to take care of your party, and do some simple decorations for your area. Only catch is that they only allow for it if you have 25 guests or less. If your party is larger than that, you have to book for a private reception.

Anyway, I don't think its in poor taste at all. Especially if you are having an AHR. But either way, I think its fine. They are already in this idyllic setting having the time of their lives..no reason to go to all that extra expense as far as I'm concerned.
Is 25 the magic number? I couldn't remember if it was 25 or 20. We are a group of 26. Hopefully that 1 person doesn't put us over the top for the restaurant :)

I've heard they will allow more if you ask when you get there. I feel the same way about the buffet. I don't mind doing it, I just don't want to be walking around in my dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
