ceiba del mar hotel and spa

Forgot a few others - invites were from The Aerialist Press http://www.theaerialistpress.com/.  VERY affordable letterpress.  We printed the menus and table cards, but we got the paper from http://www.whiteaisle.com/.  GREAT quality.  We had Javiar Rojas play during the ceremony - he was FANTASTIC!  http://www.javierrojas.com.mx/en/bio.html  We had a mariachi at the rehearsal dinner - Ceiba has the contact info, but they were very affordable and did a great job!

Tweets your pictures are beautiful!  You had a lovely wedding and you made a beautiful bride.  The song "I Loved Her First" was a favorite of my dad's and it made him think of me and when he would walk me down the aisle.  He died March 19th of this year so he won't be able to do that.  I had been thinking about that song but could not remember the name of it.  I am so grateful to have found that song.  Thank you!

Hey ladies! I'm getting married at Ceiba in February. For the brides who have already had their weddings there, I'm wondering where you got your hair done. Did you have Ceiba's onsite salon do it? If so, were you happy with the results? If you went some place else, any good recommendations? Thanks!

Brenners - I am very sorry to hear about your dad.  He may not physically be at your wedding, but he will be in every other sense!  The version of "I Loved Her First" on my slide show was a recording from the songwriter, Elliot Park.  (I LOVE him!)  I don't think that version is available.  However, Heartland recorded the song and that is likely the version you and your dad heard on the radio.  It will be a very special moment for you when that is played at your wedding.  I wish you nothing but the best!

My mom and sister are stylists and did the hair for us.  I think another Ceiba bride had stylists come from Cancun.  Paola will be able to give you recommendations.  As an FYI - it is windy, warm, and humid there.  February will be a little better than beginning of April, but there is still a lot of wind.  So, keep that in mind on how you want your hair.  I was planning on doing my down, and then we decided to pull half of it back for picture purposes (it would have been everywhere with the wind if it was all down).

Hi Ladies, Sorry I haven't posted.  My wedding was April 16th and I can't begin to describe how amazing it was from start to finish.  We arrived on Monday prior to our wedding and left the following Tuesday.  We had family or friends with us every day we were there but that was fine to us.  Eight straight days of pure sunshine. Ceiba staff exceeded any epectations I had.  To have everyone know your name and your guests was incredible.  They treated us like king and queen! Our friends and family raved about how wonderful everything was and have requested to have a reunion there again.  HAHA I have not written any reviews yet but I will eventually. Theresa - thanks for sharing your pictures.  Amazing.  You look so calm!  Your husband's wedding band is so similar to my hubby's.  Loved your flowers!  I used a photographer that a former Ceiba bride had used.  He flew from Williamsburg VA.  Awesome - took 4 days of picutres (snorkeling, hanging out photos at the pool, bbq, wedding, a photo shoot of me and hubby in the water) BUT right before I left I read a bad reviews stating he takes forever to get pictures back.  We emailed him on April 23rd and have yet to hear back from him.  BUT, his father passed away on April 20th only two days after he returned from my wedding.  I am trying to be calm about not hearing from him but a person who wrote a bad review on Yelp emailed me and told me it took one whole year to get their wedding pictures.  Ok enough rambling about that. Brenners - so sorry to hear about your father. I am sure he will be watching over you on your big day. MarisKash - I used Melissa V. Perry for hair and make-up.  She came to Ceiba and did a trial for about 3 hours a few days before my wedding.  SUPER sweet and easy to work with.  I ended up crying during my trial b/c I didn't feel like I looked like myself but wedding day came and I felt like a million bucks!!!!!!  I will try to post some pictures that my friends and family have sent.  She is on this forum so you can shoot her an email. Those of you who are debating on Ceiba...don't debate...do it!  We went over our budget by a lot (mainly b/c I was clueless on prices) but it was worth every penny and then some!

Thanks again for everything Gabi!  The flowers were incredible!  You can post the link on FB.  I'll email you some pictures of the set-up as well.  I will also post a more detailed review soon, including one under event planners/florists.  You exceeded our expectations!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am soooooo glad to hear everything went so well.  Ceiba really is an incredible and special place!

Good luck with your photographer.  Hopefully he will get back to you after things calm down with his family.  I am sure your friends/family have some great shots too!  I am looking forward to seeing pics!

I was very calm, actually.  Everyone at Ceiba, and all of our vendors, just took care of everything - so I had nothing to stress over! :)

    • Sorry you had to deal with this I hoped it worked out. It seems to be every few months a new store will be in the  'if' stage and to the 'when' stage.  Big businesses like this don't notify the employees or customers before they close down...that would cause even more losses.  One day there are signs on the door and the business is done.  And lots of people (employees and customers...not to mention the creditors that they owe millions to) get screwed immediately with little help to be found anywhere.  Look at alfred angelo, although they had less retail stores than David's Bridal, they may have had more sales than them as a company.  They were the largest manufacturer of dresses and were carried by thousands of independent stores across the world (not just the 60+ branded stores they had).  If you google search Davids Bridal going bankrupt, they are listed on all the sites that post retail stores on life support.  They have more debt than they will be able to service in 2019 and the only question right now is if they'll make it that far.  Once the debt comes due, it's almost a 100% certainty that the company will be done.  But it's also more probable than not that the bankruptcy will happen much sooner than that.  The argument about them getting a new line or how big they are isn't a good argument if you look at the history of how these normally happen.  Alfred Angelo had a brand new line of dresses that never even hit the stores but were made overseas already...those all made their first appearances at the liquidation auctions.  I'm not trying to scare anyone here, but just trying to make sure that people understand that when a company gets to this point, it's definitely a roll of the dice if you are ordering something that you can't take home today.  How much of a risk?  That's hard to say, but I am extremely confident that the pain felt when alfred angelo closed 61 stores will be even greater when Davids Bridal closes 300+ stores…and when there are other great discount dress stores out there like Bridepower or Vows Bridal Outlet on the East Coast or Brilliant Bridal in the West (and plenty of others as well), I don’t think I would personally recommend any of my friends to take that risk!  But that’s just me:)
    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
