Ishaef - I hope you can! I had to convince Tim on the cost at first too, but they are completely worth every penny and a delight to work with.

Not at all!  Just take your list and focus on one thing at a time!  Our order of priority was: securing priest, sending STDs, setting up website, photographer, DJ, makeup, florist....

 

List is a lot longer but those were the initial tasks!  It's a lot of work, especially if you want to do serious diligence on the vendors.  Will you be going back for a planning trip??  If so, I would focus on setting up appointments rather than trying to make final decisions now.  You do still have a lot of time so unless there is a certain vendor you MUST have, I wouldn't fret just yet. :)

labloom - thanks so much for sharing your pictures!  My fiance and I are discussing beach w/arch v. palapa, and your pictures are very helpful!   Looking forward to more details.

 

lshaef - I feel the same way about the planning... so many decisions and trying to decide on what vendors, etc.  Have you decided what time you are doing your ceremony?

 

lalanyc - thanks for the tips.  Are you doing a civil or religious ceremony?  We are doing a civil/legal ceremony, and I just reached out to the person to schedule the Judge.  Just looking for any tips.

I think we are going to do our ceremony at 5:30.  Our WC sent us the sunset times and the possible options and I think this will be ok to get pictures in before the lighting is poor.

 

We are doing a symbolic ceremony b/c we are planning to legally get married here in the states before going to Mexico but we are not telling out guests.  We figured it would be easier that way.

 

When we did our site visit, we decided to do the ceremony on the pier, cocktail at the sushi lounge and reception on the large terrace.

Sounds like you are making progress on your plans.

 

We have been working with Eventos Euphoria but have not finalized everything.  We are planning on using them for all decor items including the lounge seating for the bbq the night before the wedding and the bonfire.

 

Did you do a site visit?  When we went to do ours, we met with three florists.  If you want their contact info, PM me.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
