CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!  I am so happy everything went well!!!  Ceiba is really an incredible place to be married!  We used Planner1 and Javier as well - loved them both!  We used DJ Dorremix who was great as well.

I look forward to seeing your pictures from Ceiba!  Also, be forewarned - you will likely have serious Ceiba withdrawal.  I keep looking at pictures wishing we were back there, and my wedding was over a month ago!

Have a great honeymoon in Fiji! (We are taking a belated honeymoon in August to Huahine, Moorea, and Bora Bora.)

Congrats again!!

ceiba seems expensive for guests but once you get there you will see the amazing value.

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about booking for my wedding next year, anything I should know before i sign the contracts or think about what month/date to book. Most of our guests would be coming from NY or LA.

Tracy, I was there doing my site visit the day before your wedding! Looked amazing!

Congrats!  Ceiba is so incredible!  I did not have any issues w/my contract or negotiations with Ceiba - they were wonderful to work with.  I would just make sure you have the specifics in there that you want/need.  Ceiba was very flexible, though, and will work with you throughout the whole process.  our wedding was the beginning of April and the weather was perfect.  Great sun/temps for the beach and pool during the day, and still cool enough at night to be comfortable dancing.

Good Luck!

Hi Brenners!  I have not seen/heard anything re: AI or not.  However, the majority of our guests did not do AI and we did not have anyone complain/comment about pricing.  A number of our guests did excursions during the day and/or ventured into Puerto Morelos to have lunch or dinner at some of the restaurants there - so AI was not necessarily what they wanted.  Just something for your guests to keep in mind if they are going to venture off the property.

Hi Tweets!  I just heard back from Diana who told me that Ceiba still offers AI.  This is the second TA that we have tried and I am getting beyond frustrated.  Does anyone have a TA that they recommend?  I am hoping third time is the charm!  Tweets, I think I will do a poll of our guests to see what they would like.  That isn't a bad idea.

We used Tropical Wedding Experts who coordinated transportation if our guests wanted to use it and they also created a website for our guests to RSVP with their food choices and room choice. The guests did all of this on line on the website that was created for my wedding. That meant the guests had to book their flights on their own. We had all of our guests book as AI for the days of our wedding events but they had the option to change to European plan on other days. In our contract we had if all guests were AI we did not have to pay for alcohol. I think that was a major no no on the lady who was the WC at Ceiba for about two months. It definitely saved us a ton of money! The price per hour per person for alcohol at Ceiba is ridiculous!! Do you feel like you need a TA or could you negotiate with Ceiba? Good luck Oh and I got the link for my photos. There are a ton but have a peak. http://tsanderson.smugmug.com/Weddings/Laura/Wedding-Day/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
