Sorry if this is long....

OK...so now my mom has added something else for me to do. Apparently now we need to also have an AHR. Grandma and FFIL aren't coming to Mexico, and Grandma just now showed a little disapointment about not seeing me in my dress. So, we are doing at AHR. It was discussed in the past for people who couldn't make it to Mexico, I just didn't realize I'd have to plan it (mom is paying and we want LOW key).

I'm searched for wording for what I want, but haven't been able to find it so I figured I'd start a new thread.

Unlike others who have sent out wedding announcements to people who weren't invited, we are inviting EVERYONE to Mexico, if you can come, great, if not, no biggie.

We were thinking of leaving the announcemnts all done with FFIL and have him mail them out the day after our wedding, to the people who couldn't attend.

Basically, I want it to acknowled that they we missed them and we want them to come celebrate with us when we retun and we don't want gifts. (I feel like if they get the announcement after RSVPing no to our wedding, it'll look like we're looking for gifts).

Any suggestions? Advice? Help?

Here is the wording for our announcemnt:

With Great Joy and Happiness

Karen Louise Skorupski

and

Jason Kenneth Lambert

announce their marriage

Wednesday the Fourth of July

Two Thousand Seven

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa

Tulum, Mexico

My mom sent out the announcement and our AHR invites on our wedding day. Perhaps you can include an insert in your AHR invite saying that the bride and Groom consider your presence at their celebration as a wonderful gift and that no other gift is required or something to that extent. But i got to tell you I would feel funny going to a AHR empty handed. So you probally will get gifts anyhow.

We will send ours to everyone. A lot of our friends and family couldn't afford to travel, find someone to watch their kids, get time off work, etc. so we want them to feel included. Just because they couldn't come to the wedding doesn't mean we don't want to celebrate with them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
