This is very pretty! Is the green funnel a leaf? I like it.

sanchez0014 I'm sorry to sound like an idiot but what does a sand ceremony signify and can you do it at any resort as part of the ceremony?
There is another post on here somewhere that has details on the wording for the sand ceremonies. Do a search for it. I think it's a really nice idea and I definitely plan to do it. i have to figure out our containers!

The reason I decided against it, is because I thought the true meaning of the sand cermony was the blending of the bride and grooms families to make one. With that said, since as of right now, no one on my side of the family is going it just doesn't feel right doing it without them there.

I've included some websites below that have sets vase sets for a sand ceremony.

Kensington Classics: Unity Sand Ceremony Vases

Glass Pouring Ceremony Vases - Unity Ceremony -Unity Candle Sets, Unity Sand Ceremonies and Unity Candle Stands

Unity Sand Ceremony Sets

Wedding Favors: Nesting 3 Piece Bells Vase Set

Sand Ceremony Unity Kit - CC-S3900

Other ideas I've come across is for the middle vase using one that you already have. One I read about was she used her grandmothers vase for the middle.

the sand ceremony is the alternate to the unity candle I believe. You do the unity candle to signify your two seperate people coming together as one. Our pastor told us we could either blow out the single taper candles to signify we were both one...or keep them lit to signify that we are a unified couple, but still individuals...I like the second option and think that the reason people do the sand thing, is candles on the beach might be difficult. plus like Ali said, its a nice keepsake since you cannot really keep your flowers...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
