Wedding witnesses

Recommended Posts

So, I noticed on the FAQ from the wedding department at ROR that our witnesses cannot be family. Ummm... Uh oh. Are they serious? We're only having 1 attendant each and FH's is his brother. What do we do? Do we get someone who isn't in the wedding party to be a witness?

I dont think that's the case for Jamaica?? If it is we should be in trouble because hubby's brother was his witness. No one seemed to have a problem and we now have our official Jamaican marriage certificate so I would say no worries...!!

I noticed that too when I was doing my confirmation. I don't think it would matter too much. Check with Chandlyn.
My question is, does your witnesses necessarily have to be your bm & moh. What if you put someone down that doesn't end up being either your MOH or bm..can you change the witnesses when you get therehuh.gif?? anyone know this....fh doesn't know who he wants to be bm..depends on who would be attending.

This is easing my worries slightly ;-) We we have 4 people with no relation to us at the wedding, one is the MOH, one is the photographer (aunt's husband) and a couple of significant others. We should be ok.

I vaguely remember having to fill out witness information or something when requesting a wedding date. Does anyone know if they do anything with that info? Criminal check (haha) seriously though, what if we do need to choose someone else?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
