Welcome, let us know if you have any questions, but for now I would look around the Mexico area of the forum and see all the pics that have been posted.

Also make sure you post your engagement story and why you are chosing PDC.

I think the best place to start is picking the location and resort you want to get married at, so you have the location, so look for a resort.

Things to think about:

1. do you need a place where children are welcome

2. does it need to be an all-inclusive

3. how many people do you think will come

4. do you want to get married on the beach

5. will you just be having a symbolic ceremony or legal wedding

that should get you started.

Hi Alice! Welcome to the forum:)

The best place to start is by deciding on the most important aspects of a DW to you and your FI.

Do you prefer eastern/western Mexico, Caribbean, etc?

Do you want All-inclusive or not?

Will you have children at the wedding or not?

What is the approx budget for the wedding, and how much do you want your guests to spend?

Are all your guests primarily East Coast? Typically airfare is cheaper on the eastern side of Mexico, or the Caribbean.

Good luck with your planning, browse around the forum because there is a TON of information on lots of various resorts and locations. Let us know if you have specific questions!

Hi Alice,

It's hard to decide on a destination. I found I kept changing my mind all the time!!! I started with must have or must not haves first and went from there.

My Fiance was set on a legal ceremony, we had to have kids (so an adults only wouldn't do), cost was a factor, I wanted meals to be included, and was somewhere that had activities for a broad range of ages. Once you have your restrictions some places automatically get crossed off!!!!

Good luck with your decision, and there's a wealth of information here to help!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
