Mount Rundle - Banff, Alberta (PIC HEAVY)

So I'm sitting here, procrastinating, looking at pictures instead of filing my income tax which I really should be doing....

I just came across some of my pictures from the 6 months I spent living in Banff National Park in Banff, AB. Mat had the chance to visit me once during that time & we took a day to hike/scramble my favourite mountain!! I thought I'd share my pics because they bring back such amazing memories for me & climbing Mt. Rundle is one of the hardest things I've ever done! It was amazing & I am so proud of myself!!

Enjoy!!!!!!!

Here are 2 random pictures of Mount Rundle I took during my time there. Can you tell why it's my favourite? I think it's just so beautiful!! We hiked all the way up to the highest point which in the 2nd picture is the furthest point to the right side of the picture. You can't tell from the angle, but it's actually higher than the point to the left of it.

Me looking very happy before we actually started the hike!

Getting kinda steep for the top third of the hike! I was pretty scared!

Me trying to quit almost 7/8ths of the way up! Mat kept me motivated & made me believe I could finish it! I actually had a small panick attack & didn't want to continue! (you can't really tell but at the narrowist part of this part of the mountain we only had a section approx. 8 feet wide to walk across with sheer drops down both sides)

I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a nalgene bottle that is somehow fastened to rocks at the top, with a small notebook for recording your name & anything else you want to write once you've made it!

So happy I got to share this experience with him!

I worked at the Fairmont for a few months & still wasn't able to get over the beauty of the place!! I would love to return as a guest one day! :)

I think we're going to climb sulfur mountain this time around - just up the path under the gondolas - that will be a big enough feat for me!!!!

Sulfur is a really nice hike!! Bring yourself a snack for the top (I think it's quite overpriced to eat!) Make sure to go to the top viewing deck where they have little flags painted all around the 360 degree viewing platform, telling you the name (and distance from Sulfur Mt) of different places in the world that are in the direction they point! Very cool!

You know for as much as we paid for our rooms and as beautiful as the hotel was, the room we stayed in wasn't that great. There was dust all over the dresser and there was mascara on one of the towels in the bathroom. I don't usually complain but again we paid a lot of money to stay there. I called the front desk and they pretty much told me they were booked and there was nothing they could do... but other than that is was amazing. We actually got lost in that hotel. You all should really check this place out it's crazy beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
