To Invite or Not to Invite

Hey ladies, so I need some advice. I went to a DW in Mexico last year where another guest (and her fiance) I vaguely knew, hung out with my group of friends. It was fine and we had a great time but now this year both she and I are getting married. She invited us to her wedding, and now I feel obligated to invite them to ours. However, our wedding is a destination wedding and we only wanted to invite people who are near and dear to us and here I am considering inviting somebody who I only really hung out with for a week in Mexico. Am I making to much of this? Should I just do it? Arghhhh.... drama.

I wouldn't. But I don't feel the need to invite out of obligation. It's different for her to invite you if she's having a traditional at home wedding IMHO. I think most people know that DW's tend to have a much more exclusive invite list.

I know this sounds horrible BUT a lot of people invite everyone they know to a wedding for selfish reasons. One being presents two being attention. With at Destination wedding, we are a different breed. Don't feel obligated AT ALL. It is understandable and easily explainable if brought up.

Yes, I think you guys are right. We only wanted our close friends and family to be there on our special day, you know people who were there from the beginning... that's why we chose a destination wedding!!!

I really appreciate your advice on the matter!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
