veil or no veil-that is the question

Recommended Posts

I wanted a veil at first, but then the more I thought about the wind coming in off the ocean, the less I cared if I had one. Then I also didn't want to cover up the back of my dress, as the back of my dress is not plain. I may still decide to have one to take down and see what the wind is like, but my Mom will make it, so it won't be a big expense. Maybe I will mention the weights to her.

Hey girls,

I am having a beach wedding in Key West. Our ceremony is casual elegance. My FH is wearing a suit but no tie. My FH suggests I not wear a veil since it may be windy and be blowing all over the place. I am undecided. Anyone going through the same problem?

It can be pretty windy. Some brides worn veils, some just put on some tropical flowers. Whatever you feel like having. Why don't you bring a veil with you and if it gets too windy then don't wear it? Or wear during ceremony and take it off for reception..

I was married outside at a gazebo overlooking the ocean on a breezy day and my veil blew around a good bit. In most of the pics DH is actually holding it down as part of the pose! I wore my hair up and chose to attach my veil underneath so it didn't blow into my face, and that really helped. I was always going to wear a veil regardless as I felt it completed my look and made me feel more like a bride. With that said, the brides in most of the weddings I saw were not wearing veils.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
