veil or no veil-that is the question

Recommended Posts

I have to say that I had no intention of getting a veil but ended up loving it! If you do it, make sure it is simple enough to not overpower your dress. also, make sure it isn't too long for the ocean breeze. i have pretty short curly hair and it looked nice

lol, well I think I've violated every DW norm (is there such a thing?) with my veil. It's beaded and cathedral length and goes awesome with my dress so I couldn't pass it up. I'm kinda wishing I hadn't bought it now, because I think I'd rather just do flowers, but I love my veil. I haven't put it on since I bought my dress, but I'm trying to figure out how I can wear the veil for the ceremony and some pictures, then take it off and put flowers in for the reception. And, what kind of hairdo for all this? No clue...

Here's the veil...you don' think it overpowers my dress do you?

I was planning on wearing a veil initially, but decided against it. I wantewd to look more casual and a veil really dresses things up.

But some arguments I have heard are that you only get to wear a veil once in your life, so do it! I even had a friend wear her hair up with a veil for the ceremony and for the reception wore her hair down, curled (with an iron) with the sides pulled back and no veil.

It is up to you. Both are very pretty and I don;t think it is too much to wear the flower and the veil together.

Now that I've seen Karla's pictures (which are absolutely STUNNING!!!!!!!!) I think I'm going to go with both the veil and flowers. I think it looks beautiful, not too much at all!!

I love the cathedral veil and you're right it does go well with the dress. I don't know if you're planning on putting your hair up or leaving it down. If it's up you could put the veil underneath the updo (like Karla) and when you take it out put flowers along the side.

I think no matter what you choose it will look beautiful. I love your dress!!!!

I wasn't planning on wearing a veil - I'm definitely not a veil girl, but one of my BMs kept haggling me on it and the other tag-teamed me when we went in for my last fitting.

I took it off after the pictures. I liked wearing it - it was fun. Mostly, I liked wearing it around the house. Pre-wedding, it was easier to put on than lugging out the darn dress (and then hanging it back up) when I wanted to feel like a bride. Post-wedding, it's fun to put on and wear down to breakfast. Makes my husband laugh.

I'm actually the opposite, I never thought I could get married without a veil but it just didn't look right once I put it on with my dress, I already purchased some hair stuff but I really like the idea of putting a flower in my hair.. I'll have to see, maybe I'll have both there just in case I decide one way or another.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
