Tabasco's Beach Club

We had a Margarita Party there on Thursday, Nov 2nd. It was a big hit and the food was very good. Here's some pics. Let me know if any of you have any questions regarding Tabascos. (I FINALLY figured out how to post pics!!)

Here's the view when you walk up to the restaurant:

The table on the left with the yellow and red tablecloth is where they did the buffet setup for us. They already have tiki torches there that they light up every night.

Here is another view of the beach setup:

Here's the bonfire setup while we were having dinner:

(We provided the luminarias ourselves.)

And here's a shot of how we moved the chairs around the bonfire:

It was really fun... those pics were taken pretty early in the night.... we got rowdier as the night went on. I did not even notice when the staff left for the night until Paul tapped me on the shoulder and told me he was leaving and the night watchman would stick around and to feel free to stay as long as we wanted to. I miss Cabo!!

Kash, they definitely do an open bar. And just to give you a roundabout idea for 65 guests we were quoted around $32/pp (incl service) for a shrimp and fish dinner, served with rice and beans. We get the whole beach area for our party, and while they do offer open bar plans we're just going to do an open bar with at $$ limit. We have to spend a min of $850 which works out to only $13/pp for drinks. Should not be a problem with our crew. I am letting Rosy do all the negotiating work with Paul.

Kash,

I think you can do several different group menu choices. We were quoted $24pp for a fajita buffet which included one drink (water, soda, domestic beer, or margarita). It was A LOT of food. They had tostadas to start with and then chicken AND beef fajitas with spanish rice and beans.

The margarita party was based on open bar with a minimum consumption price that you can arrange prior to getting there. We had negotiated a minimum consumption of $750 (originally they wanted $1k) when we had 60-70 people, we had 35 count later on and negotiated to $500 minimum consumption. It's all negotiable, just don't forget that!

We did not have a fee to setup the bonfire. We also did not have the whole restaurant rented out since we had only 20-30 people there. But it was fine, they sectioned off half of the place for us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
