Couples Negril Vs Swept Away

Recommended Posts

Joel and I are just decided to elope and I have been looking at possibilites of places to go for the past 2 days. I even tried to get organized and made an Excel spreadsheet of the different resorts and packages. A little OCD on my part...but it helped.

I think the Couples resorts are now in the lead. I have been to Sandals MoBay and had a blast...but I like the wedding related stuff at couples just slightly more. So my big question is...Couples Negril or Couples Swept Away? I know CSA is larger and more $$; but other than that what are the differences? Is CSA worth the extra $$?

I wrote Couples and got 2 basic docs w/ the wedding prices and policies so far. Has anyone here been to CN or CSA?

I'm a CSA bride but the wedding is still 2 months away. PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

TA Jennifer has been to both properties and posted a great review:

She would be the one to ask.

We ended up choosing CSA because it is newer and we have single guests coming and CSA is the only resort to offer double bed rooms. My understanding is that CN has a bigger pool but CSA has a large sports and fitness complex that a lot of our guests will use. I would also suggest reading the forums on the Couples site Jamaica Resorts: Couples Resorts - All-Inclusive Resorts: Jamaican. They are very active and have a whole wedding section. Many past brides have posted reviews and pictures. A good thing about Couples in general is that they really encourage repeat business, so lots of people on the boards have been to more than one Couples property.

If you guys want to wait until June we could meet there!

We just got back from our wedding and honeymoon. We spent 4 nights at CSA and we thought it was really great and would go back!! The beach is large and beautiful white sand. There are two pools, both are quite small, one with a swim up bar. The food is great....the buffets to the gourmet restaurant Feathers. The sports complex across the road is really fantastic. They have a really nice spa, gym, a few tennis courts, squash courts, raquet ball courts, a bar that makes really good smoothies, which of course we didn't discover until our last day there! There is a night club there which had a piano and I think they have duelling piano's every night. We didn't actually go, but it looked cool. We had just spent a week with 47 people so we were only there to relax and quiet time, but we really enjoyed it and would go back. We had a beachfront verandah suite which was really awesome, however the bathroom was quite outdated. All in all I'd recommend it!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
