What necklace to wear with halter dress?

Recommended Posts

I'm wearing a halter as well. Mine's lace, so I've opted for no necklace as I think it will detract from things. If I was to wear one, it would be very simple - an elegant chain with a delicate pendant of some variety. I think the length should be just long enough that the pendant is framed in the v of the halter, just below your collarbones.

I hate the way a necklace feels with a halter. Have you thought about wearing one of those pendants on a clear chain (like that fishing line looking stuff) That way it doesn't take away from the halter part and looks like a floating decoration :)

i have a halter dress and i am not wearing a necklace. instead im going to wear some simple dangly earrings. i think a necklace detracts too much from how beautiful the dress is. (and trust me, i tried on every necklace i own! i just liked how it looked with no necklace best)

thanks for your opinions!

i feel the same about not wearing a necklace and probably won't do so at my DW but I need something for my AHR chinese banquet.

Unfortunately, in chinese culture, the bride's family is supposed to give their daughter jewelry to bring into her new family so I would have to wear something to display this tradition. I don't really care about this but my dad (who has been cool about the DW and not made any demands on my wedding) has told me that if I don't wear something around my neck, most people will assume that my family was too poor to provide me with jewels!

What type of halter top is it? Does it have small straps that look like they could be detached, or is larger straps that are part of the top that covers the boobs?

(does that make sense?)

If it's the wider straps that are part of the top, then I would do like the other ladies have suggested with a thin chain.

If it's the small straps, then you could maybe wear a choker necklace.

I've now become obsessed with large dangly sparkly earrings to go with my dress. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19246

Good luck with your search.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
