PhotoSouvernir and Dreams Issue

So I received a response from Miguelina-the WC-this morning and this is what it says:

 

"Hello Jessica:

 

That is correct.

 

There have been very big problems with this photo company and the owners of the hotel.

 

They are not allowed to enter the property.

 

However, our photographers are very good and professional.

Aww, sweetie. So sorry to hear her response. That sucks! Is there any way you can see if they can put their differences aside just for 1 day. Did you already put your deposit down? If so, maybe you can tell them you did and you were not aware of the situation b/c it wasnt brought to your attention before doing so. That's a real bummer. Did the WC at least send you some photos of the resort photographer's work? Thanks for keeping us updated though

This really stinks! This company seemed to do a really good job and people really enjoyed working with them and now because the owners of the hotel and these photographers don't get along, people get screwed! Ugh...so annoying. Do you think you'll end up using the Resorts Photographer? A friend of mine who is used to planning events from a distance suggested asking the resort if they contract out their photographers and if so ask if you can get a name of the photographer or a website so you can check out there work! Hope that helps.

thx. I sent Miguelina back an email explaining that I put a deposit, etc and see what they say. How was I suppose to know this would occur, you know? Photosouvenir is saying that its not the "owner" of the resort, its just one particular person who has a lot of pull in the resort and maybe they feel threatened bc they are getting a lot of business at Dreams & taking away from the new photo company. I dont know..sounds like a lot of stuff is going on & I'm stuck in the middle (with a few other brides who were already booked with Photosouvenir).

I dont know if I'll end up using the resort photographer or not...I will 1st like to find out if I could bring a different photographer (aside from Photosouvenir) and make sure that they dont have an issue with that....Oh on the Dreams Forum, I found a photo package for the new company they use and basically it said that they will show you their work once you arrive!! So basically if I get there and decide that I do not like their form of photography, I'm screwed either way! Ive been up and down that forum to see if a website has been given but no, only the guy's email address if you have questions. But I will ask what your friend suggested and see what they say. thx again

I used Tropical photography at the Dreams Resort..I am very happy with the pics..I haven't yet uploaded all my pics as I just got back on Sunday..I do have some on my Facebook if you are interested in seeing some PM me.

I am so sorry for your stess!

I had emialed about pics myself due to wanting a TTD session and they informed me to contact the photographer direct to set it up. THey sent me the info on Tropical photography also, so maybe this is the company they typically use for the "on-resort" pics? They don't seem too bad. Maybe this will help.

I am curious to see their work also.

That's really crazy.

Def let them know that you already put a deposit down and see what they say.

I wonder what happened between them that caused such tension.
