Dreams Cancun Contract Options

I have another question regarding the cost of the dinner reception: does anyone know what the cost is for kids, or are they free? Obviously they are not drinking, and not eating as much either, so you would think that they might let them go for free or quite cheap.

We had the surf & turf for dinner, it was delicious!

the per person charge is different depending if you choose gold or silver, but with the package its still 20 people.

And yes, you can get a chocolate cake.
We paid for the Dreams Ultimate Pkg. Which included the Gold menu.
We substituted some items from the Silver menu as well.
My experience was a little different from Jill's since we had the buffet and not a plated dinner. We had 41 people and 3 kids

Gold Buffet Menu:
1 soup, 3 salads, 3 entree, 2 dessert

SOPA
Tortilla Soup (silver menu)

ENSALADA
Caribbean Mixed Greens (silver menu)
Caesar Salad (silver menu)
Dreams Salad

ENTREMES
Surf and Turf of the House
Mixed Fajitas (silver menu)
Filet of Grouper

DESSERT
Churros and Cream (silver menu)
Pineapple cheescake (we changed to this once we met with Claudia)

I had last year's pricing for my wedding in Feb of this year, so I am sure it is different now.

People raved about the cocktail hour food.
We had mostly Mexican appetizers.
Cannot remember what else, but people loved the chicken fingers too, not sure what they were like since we missed cocktail hour since we were having pictures taken.
I ran by and grabbed a quesadilla which was yummy.

Since I am Mexican, the Mexican food selections were very important to me.
I must say it was delicious!

Oh almost forgot. Our cake was half vanilla, half chocolate.
I ordered it for 20 people, eventhough we had 41.
It was more then enough and I think much was wasted because people had the dessert and were outside dancing when they served much of it.
I wanted a layered cake though, seemed more wedding-like to me.

happy new year girls :)

I got the Dreams of Love package and Gaby told me I could choose any 3 hot and 3 cold appetizers from the silver OR gold. I also changed my silver dinner menu included with Dreams of Love to a Gold Menu and this wasnt a problem.

I dont know if this question was answered yet, but has anyone heard if we can negotiate the cockail hour for more people at the receptionhuh.gif and if so, how many extra people does it cover? Im getting married in jan 2010 and everyone we invited (around 45) has said they are coming, and even though they all probably wont, it would be nice to know how many ppl we can cover with cockail hour just in case, lol.

also, has anyone here used De Sol photograhy for their wedding? think we are going to go with them..

thanks everyone :)

You will have to double check with Gaby but I know they told me I could exchange the cocktail hour for more people at the reception. I ended up only having 23 so I just paid the extra. I think it figured out to be about ten extra people being covered for dinner by giving up the cocktail hour.

DelSol is amazing and I don't think you can go wrong with them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
