YAY DANIELLE!!!smile159.gif

I can't wait to hear all about your shower!!! smile29.gif

TARA - OMG girl - you have to find that passport! My dad's wife is having a hard time getting her passport. She has to turn in a BUNCH of paperwork and isn't happy about it. The bad part is my dad is just laughing at her about it and it only makes her madder!

Erica - Poor baby! Is she switching from breast milk to formula? Tell her to give him a dollop of dark Karo syrup in the milk and that baby will poop for sure! Or some straight apple juice. It was my moms advice and it worked for me with both my babies. OH - I was going to tell you - I was at the grocery store and Hefty makes those zoo animal plates for kids. Well, they also make disposable sippy cups. They are small cups with plastic lids that you can use maybe once or twice and then you can toss. I paid $3.69 for 14 cups and lids. We are trying them out this week and if they work, we are getting them for Mexico.

I had a super busy weekend. Yesterday I got the linen fabric and pattern for my step mom to make my son's pants. Total cost was $14. I also had a picture reduced so I can make my memory charm of my mom for my bouquet. I made some copies of me and FI when we were kids to put on our guest book table. I have some of when we were in pre-school and our graduation pics. OH - I also got the undergarments for the dress. I have to call and get an appointment for Sunday.

Today is our deadline for RSVP's! When was your guys' deadlines and did you get a lot of responses after the fact?

We had our deadline awhile ago and most people didn't bother to RSVP at all. My cousin is probably booking right away though and she was supposed to be in the wedding party but had to bow out. Now she talked to her man again and he not only wants to come, he wants to bring their 2 kids, although my cousin wants to leave them at home. We will see what happens. I also talked to Larry's FSIL and it sounds like they are going to book right away too. I am happy for Larry and that means that we will have 2 guys standing up for him.

Danielle - Don't worry about TMI with me. I am a nurse and see and hear a LOT! The other day I had this woman that was apologizing for not looking her best even though she still looked better than me. LOL! Then I had a guy that wouldn't tell me what was wrong which made me realize that he obviously had issues with his nether region, and probably got something from someone. I was right!! Constipation I see all the time, and you don't even want to know what I sometimes have to do to help those people! LMAO! Anyways, one thing that helps with constipation is drinking water. Maybe giving him some water rather than formula or the breast first and then if he still wants more to drink, he could have the formula or breast milk.

When you do the other thread for your shower, make sure to put the link here. I can't wait to see the pics. Glad you had a good time. Did you get to wear your shower outfit?

Tara - I hope you find your passport soon. I have all of our packed away in the bag I am taking as my carry-on already.

I have been thinking about not only test packing, but actually packing some stuff since the warm weather is looking like it will be coming to an end now. We don't really need to have our bathing suits and shorts and tank tops and the such out if we aren't going to use them. I get the joy of packing for 4 people this time, so I might as well get going on it. The 2 weeks before we leave I am soooo busy too. I work the weekend, then have to go to the city for the NKTOB concert on the Tues. Then on Fri I have to head back to the city for the Taboo sex show and getting waxed on Sat before heading home. Then on Wed we will be heading back to the city after Hailey is done playschool and get ready to fly out at 7am on Thurs.

Erica that's cool Larrys had two guys standing up for him. Are you relieved now?

I didnt wear the dress i had saved for my shower because on Saturday I went to JC Penney and ended up buying 3 more dresses. I wore one of those instead, it was a pretty purple and kind of had fall feeling to it so i thought it would be perfect for my shower. It was sooo comfy too!

I'm jealous that your going to NKOTB. I want to go, i saw their new video two weeks ago on vh1 and started texting all my friends. It was like i was 12 yrs old again. I got all excited! lol

So now that my shower is over i'm going to give my bridesmaid swag bags (love that saying Celina!) and bags for our moms. So one night this week, probably tonight because i'm excited to do them, I'm going to put them together.

so i test packed today and the only thing i'm concerned about getting to mexico are my starfish place card holders..... they need serious padding so i don't want to put them in a suitcase, but they don't fit in a backback either...... i really don't want to skip them but I'm not sure how to get them to mexico
You need to find that passport girl! Do you have enough time to apply for a replacement if you can't find it? Do you have a carryon suitcase that you can pack the starfish in? That should give you a little more room than a backpack.

Our deadline was August 15, and we got most of our replies the week of and week after our deadline, but were still missing about 20 the week after that so we had to start emailing people to find out for sure. Luckily, we did because we had about half of our guests book their trips at that point and we probably would have counted them as No's since they didn't reply.

I didn't do much wedding related things this weekend like I had hoped. I still didn't work on my programs, or menus. However, I did get my parasols and blumeboxes in though. I got 4 white/off white and one hot pink parasol. I didn't know how the pink was going to look in person so I got an extra white one for me in case I didn't like it. The color is fine, but the umbrella part looks weird to me. It's like they put some kind of coating on it so when it is closed it looks the same color, but open the branches part is darker because of the coating. It's weird. I probably won't use it, but it was only $5 so it is not a big deal. The white ones are fine though. I'm hoping they will be OK in a checked suitcase. They are just wrapped in paper, not bubble wrap or anything. The handles are also bamboo so I hope I don't have an issue getting them through customs, I read somewhere else on the forum that bamboo was an issue, but I can't remember where.

The blumeboxes are really cute. One of these days on my ever growing To Do list I am going to stop at the florist and see how many flowers I will need to fil the vases so I can give an count to the WC. I got the smaller boxes for the centerpieces so hopefully we won't need too many. I don't know if there will be an extra charge for the flowers since centerpieces were included in our package, but they may have a special centerpiece that is included.

Hey all, I hope you all are well! Sounds like you all are in high gear. I am having a last minute shower Oct 18. Very excited. It is a shower where the guests are assigned an hour of the day and they bring a gift related to that hour. Like 6pm something for dinner time or stuff like that. A little different.

Oh Tara, if you dont find your passport report it lost and get a new one. Dont waste too much time looking for it.

Holy crap November Brides we are almost November Wives!!

I'm closing in on 1 month... OMG!!!!

On the passport front, I didn't find the sucker. So I went and applied for an expedited one today. $200 later it should be at my door in 2 weeks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
