CELINA. My god, you are the sweetest person I know. So you all know that Celina was going to send me her long dress bag. So nice of her! I got the box today and I open it up, and not only is there the dress bag, but there is also a white "bride" hat, just married flip flops, a super nice hanger, and downy smell good things. And a card. Seriously, I teared up. That is the sweetest thing ever, thank you so much. You made my day, my week, hell my month! We definitely need to get together in PV so I can buy you some drinks rolleyes.gif

Oh my God...Last night I had a major dress meltdown. I had my daughter take some pics of me in my dress so I could post them today. I put the dress on and even when I had it on at the seamstress' house, it felt like it was choking me (if that makes sense).

Well, I put it on and she took some pics and I went to look at them and OH MY LORD - my dress looks terrible. I don't know if it's cause the camera adds 10 pounds or what - but....when I took the dress in I wanted more side coverage because the arm holes were too far down. So she pulled in the shoulders. By pulling in the shoulders caused the front of the dress to be pulled up, but it took away from the cleavage. So now, I have no cleavage and most of my chest is covered. If I wore a necklace you wouldn't even see it. Looking in the mirror it doesn't look bad but looking in the pictures it looks terrible. I don't know if I have warped vision or what.

My boobs look GINORMOUS and I don't look good at all. I called David's Bridal last night and had them pull all of the dresses in my size and I have an 11:30 appointment today. This is so bad. I couldn't sleep last night.

The dress looks too matronly and is not the way I want to look on my wedding day. I brought bra's, girdles and my veil. Say a prayer that I find something. I brought my camera in case I do find something.

This is supposed to happen to the bridesmaids and not the bride!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucy: your stagette looks like it was sooo much fun!! i laughed out loud when I saw you shooting the bj from between the guys knees!! and I'm at work!!!

Celina: i bet it is not as bad as you think. deep breaths... i wish we could all be there for your support too. are you able to go back to the seamstress at all? Maybe its as simple as letting out some stitches and a small alteration? And you are too cute with the care package you sent to Tara!!

I've almost got all my luggage tags done, so I will post a pic as soon as they are. so many of our guests have moved in the last year, I've been tracking down their current addresses.

I've almost done my newsletter too, which I'll send out this week to everyone so they can check any last minute stuff they'll need. I'm putting a packing list, some background info on Dominican Republic and a rough schedule for the week (rehearsal dinner, meet n greet brunch, wedding day!, flight times). I hope they like it! I'll post pics of it too.

I think I have most of the stuff for my welcome bags too, but I keep forgetting to pick up some Shout Wipes when I am out. Maybe I'll actually make a list. Anyone know where I can find the mosquito repellent wipes in Canada? Should i try Canadian Tire or Wal-Mart?

Thanks for the well wishes!

Lisa - your pics are too funny! The chest hair?? Ewww! LOL! The one with the stocking between your legs and the bottle - that is hillarious!

Steph, you guys look like you had a chill time! How fun! The little nightie is cute!

I wonder where Erica is??

Tara - no problem on the stuff! You are so cute I couldn't help myself! I fell in love with those Snuggle things...I couldn't help but spread my good find!

I'll be in touch later! I need your prayers that my dress is waiting for me. I pulled up some pics from Davids Bridal's website. I am taking them in and hoping for the best.

Lisa - your bach party pics were hilarious! Who drew all those weiners? The pantyhose in the bottle thing was too funny, I have never seen that before. I loved the hula outfit!

Celina-That was such a nice gift you sent Tara. I'm so sorry you don't like your dress. Maybe you can take it back to the alterations person and have them do something different with the neckline. Maybe they can do a sweetheart neckline or something to give you some of your cleavage back. Will David's bridal let you buy one of the dresses off the rack or will they have to order it?

Steph-It looks like a fun time at your bach party and shower!

My girls finally let me know what is going on for my bach party this Saturday. I really didn't want a party, but they still wanted to do something. They wouldn't tell me anything, but they finally let me know that we are doing dinner at Maggiano's and then we will probably go out for drinks. It is just going to be the 3 of us, and I am completely OK with that! They are my two best friends (I have know my MOH since 1st grade!) and we all live far apart so I rarely get to see them. Plus, my MOH is a nurse and works weekends when I'm off so that makes it even more difficult. It will be nice to spend the evening with them. I have my hair appointment in the morning for cut, color and trial updo. I just saw an updo picture on Carrie Underwood, and I think that is the hair style I am leaning towards, but I will see what my hair stylist recommends for my hair. She knows what style will work best. I think I might go for a manicure/pedicure Friday while Mike is out at his bachelor party. The funny thing is his brother planned for them to go to Maggiano's for dinner on Friday so it's good that we won't be there at the same time. We finally got the groomsman gift too. Mike only has his brother standing up as his best man, and he has everything. He also doesn't swim so a lot of the excursions in Mexico wouldn't have worked out. So we got him a BBQ set with his initials on it, and we ordered him a gift package from Omaha steaks. I hope he likes it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
