Hey girls,

I had a great bachelorette weekend in Traverse City. The weather was perfect and we had such a great time. Wineries, laughing by the campfire, casino on Friday night. Saturday morning they threw me my friend shower. I got wined, dined and 69'd. Really cute gifts and my sister really put out a big spread. Then we took off and went shopping downtown where there were some really cute shops. Came back and napped a little and then had a taxi van pick us up for a night on the town. We danced and drank and just had a blast. Went to one bar where all the Detroit Red Wing hockey players were at (this is their training camp week) so got my picture taken with one :)

All and all a great weekend. Everyone says how they want to go back and rent the same house on the lake next year. So, definitely a fun girls trip. Oh, also my BM's loved their gifts so I was pretty happy about that.

I'm closing in on 1 month... OMG!!!!

On the passport front, I didn't find the sucker. So I went and applied for an expedited one today. $200 later it should be at my door in 2 weeks.
HOLY CRAP TARA!!!

Lordy, Lordy that sounds like a blast! Yeah - we want pics! How fun!

Well, I have had a minor invitation fiasco. I have found out over the past few days that some people who I sent invites to - DID NOT GET THEM!

I took an invitation with all of the inserts, etc to the post office and asked the lady how much for postage. She said 59 cents and I bought 100 - .59cent stamps and mailed them out. WELL - I got my grandmothers invite back and it said it needed .41 cents additional postage.

One of my dads friends from work said they got a notice in the mail that said they had an envelope at the post office that was .41 cents COD.

WTFhuh.gif? My old boss said he never got his! SO now - I am having to call people who haven't RSVP'd to even see if they got their invitation in the first place.

Not only is this embarrasing - but i have to explain it to everyone and why did some people get their invites fine and others have problems? It is so freakin ridiculous! Not to mention the cost of invitations and postage only for people not to get them!

The only good thing is that the people I regretted inviting who haven't RSVP'd - I'm not calling them! They are off the list - HA HA!!

I am most concerned with the RSVP's because we need a head count for food for our AHR. I know who is going to Mexico so that isn't an issue. We have 69 adults and 29 kids already RSVP'd for our AHR. Since FI and I are paying for all of the food at our AHR, we needed an estimate sooner rather than later so we know what food to buy. We are going to the church on Saturday to check things out. I am starting to get excited. I still have no idea on what to do for centerpieces.

Celina how the heck does that happen. So some invites went through with the .59 and others said they needed .41 more? That is the us postal system for ya. WTH!

I would be so annoyed that i had to call people but at least there's a little good to it, you can forget about people you didnt really want in the first place.

So i don't have very many wedding projects left but i just cant seem to find the time to get them done. And i'm running out of time. I'm also getting tired of wedding stuff. anyone else feeling that way?

Celina, that is crazy. You went to the post office so you would know how much postage you needed. Not so that they could tell you the wrong amount. And how wierd that some of them made it and others didn't. Annoying!

Danielle, YES I FEEL THAT WAY TOO! I don't have much left to do, but I'm just so over it. I thought the closer I got the more motivated and excited I'd be to get my final mini projects done. NOT! But I made myself promise I'd get some done this weekend. So we'll see! What do you have left to do?

Tara - I can't believe that it cost $200 to get another passport. That is insane. Since you had to spend that $, I hope that you don't suddenly find the other passport. Maybe you could find it later on down the road and after the wedding.

Celina - With all the invites that I made for everyone, I used all the same measurements and papers and everything, and I was told that it was whatever the regular letter rate is. I sent them all off and then one came back and required more postage. I was not impressed, so obviously it isn't just the US postal service.

Amy - I am glad to hear that you had a great weekend. It almost makes me want to go there for a weekend, but that is a long trip for me!

Danielle - I still have a couple projects on the go that I have to finish, and even though I have every intention, I have been aboe to start finishing them. I was working the past 5 days, so maybe now I can buckle down and get them done.

Yeah, my cousin and her hubby booked yesterday!!! She was originally going to be inthe wedding party, but then they had to pull out before they booked. Now they have booked and even though Scott wanted to bring their 2 girls, Bobbie won the battle to leave them behind. She isn't going to be in the wedding party now, but she will be there as a guest. I am sooooo excited. She is actually my oldest cousins daughter, but there is only 19 months between us, and growing up we were always really close. While I was going to school, I actually lived with them for about 2 years.

My to do list:

-finish the bath bombs

-finish the soaps

-finalize the programs (once we find out if Larry's brother is coming or not)

-buy the hand sanitizer for the OOT bags

-finish the welcome books (need to have final guest list)

-Test pack

I am actually going to start packing the kids suitcase today. I have it on the couch right now and I am going to put all the stuff I can in there now, so I don't have to put summer clothes away and then get them out to pack. I just got a new case of diapers too, so I am going to pack part of that so I know how much room is left after the diapers go in.

Oh Erica, that is so wonderful that your cousin can make it! How sweet!

I found this cute website yesterday. I was looking for some boxes to put the embroidered handkerchiefs that I got for the moms, my MOH, daughter and aunt. It's Wholesale Gift Boxes and Retail Gift Boxes, Bayley's Boxes, A Gift Box for Any Occasion I think I'm going to use the round ones with flowers to put the hankies in.

My list is getting shorter too! This past week the excitement has started to mount. Everyone around us is asking about the wedding. I have some small stuff to do - like a final count of OOT bag stuff. I scheduled a facial, eyebrow waxing and plan to schedule my make up trial for the afternoon of my Bach party.

I just looked at my list - all I have left for the Mexico wedding is:

finish corsages,

decorate blumeboxes,

buy a sash for daughters dress,

get my dress alterations,

buy a big suitcase,

find a smaller bag for my dress. (Do any of you need a big white dress bag? - if so it's yours. If not I'll sell it when I'm done. I have a tea length dress and it's much too big for my dress)

and the last thing to do is pay for the limo to and from the airport.

OH YEAH....I need to lay off the sugar and pop and start pumping in the water, fruits and veggies!

So I finished the bath bombs, but then I also remembered that I have to do the luggage tags, since I decided to redo them. I might finish the soaps tomorrow, but it depends if I can find them. Couldn't find them at Mom's today, so maybe I brought them home. Guess I will check in the AM.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
