I think we might give coloring books and crayons at the wedding to keep the kids occupied. The hand held games would be a good idea. I know my brother has a Nintendo DS, but the other one is only 3 and I don't think he gets video games yet. Maybe we can get something else for him.

FI and I also got a new camera on Friday. We decided we would get that instead of doing wedding gifts for each other. I will take pics of the stuff I got so far and post. Be prepared for lots of pics coming soon.
Michelle someone on the website posted (about a month ago) a really cute coloring/activity book she made for kids coming to her wedding.

I can't wait to see all the pics of your stuff so far.

Oh i forgot to post about this, on saturday we received our custom shirts. They came out great i love them. We have to order two more now since we didnt' know sizes. So by the end of the week i'll have the other two people's sizes and ill have all my shirts ordered. So glad to get that checked off my list.

I'm going with my dad to K&G this week to get his pants altered. i didn't think he's remember to do it so i'm having him meet me there.

And most of my family still hasnt' gotten their passports yet, this includes my parents and my brother. I'm getting tired of reminding everyone to go get it. I told everyone to make sure they go apply for one by the end of the month.

Erica - OMG that is incredible! What a busy night! I hope the baby and mom are doing great. Nurses are incredible people. FI's bro and SIL are both nurses. You all have so much patience and kindness. It''s a job only a few can do.

Danielle - YAY on your shirts! Isn't it cute how we are holding our dad's hands and making sure they get their stuff together? I heard that passports were taking like two weeks.

My MOH went yesterday to pay on her trip - so that was good. I got my cake boxes in yesterday and ordered the wrong ones! They have a thatch sort of pattern on them, kind of like a weave - it kind of reminds me of a grass mat so I decided to keep them. (Another project to decorate)

I also got my OOT bag tags from Vista Print and OMG they are HUGE!! I think they are too big. I ordered the oversized postcards, which were the same size as my STD postcards (or so I thought) but they are like 5x7! I think they are way too big.

Unfortunately we don't have our camera so I can't take any pics. You know how I felt so bad with my dress, veil and flower? My Stepmom saw the veil and dress on Sunday and she almost fell out gushing over how beautiful it was. She had me put the veil on and she said, "Wow - you look like a beautiful Spanish bride - the flower and veil are beautiful". I felt SO good hearing her say that. It is such a relief and nice to be reassured.

Now...I just need to get moving on those sit ups! LOL

Oh Celina what a great idea to use the post cards as the OOT bag tags, I hadnt thought of that. So I take it you would sugguest using the smaller post cards? Thanks for the idea!

Danielle, I cant wait to see your shirts!!

We are getting so close ladies. It seems like we have the little details left and thats it. Anyone have anythig huge to accomplish?

I don't think we have anything major left to do.. except Jayson needs to figure out for sure if his best man Ron is coming (they haven't booked yet) and his other groomsman (hasn't booked yet either) and if they are coming, they need to get their outfits sorted out :P However this is something I can't really worry about.. Jayson has his clothes and my BM's have theirs and I have mine.. heh

Celina - My Mom and I were looking at the custom shirts, but FI didn't like them when I showed him. FI is a country bot and if I let him dress the way he wanted for the wedding, he would be in Wranglers, his roppers, a western shirt and his cowboy hat. LOL. Picking a shirt that he likes has been a challenge, but we got it done!

Danielle - That is exciting that you started getting your shirts in.

Lucy - My Mom and I are both nurses at the same hospital. We don't work together as often now since I changed rotations, but occassionally, or we see each other in report at shift change. People like working with the both of us too, because we get our stuff done, but we have fun doing so!

As for what I have left to do:

-finish beading the dresses (Mom is doing mine & I am doing Hailey's)

-get the guys pants (waiting for 2 GM to book still)

-decide on something old & something borrowed (one item from my Grandma & the other from my Nanny, both who won't be there)

-get Bubba kegs

-DIY projects

-programs for on the fans

-finish bathbombs

-finish Welcome books

-make Hailey's FG basket

And finally....pay off the trip!!!

OMG, that looks so short now.

Celina - thanks for the idea of using the vista print postcards as tags for the bags. I was trying to make hangtags a few weeks ago and i don't really like how they came out. Guess i'll be ordering postcards. And you got the holding my dads hand thing right, if i dont guide him through the process it doesn't get done!

Hmm what else do i have to do now:

- Start welcome packets

- make programs

- make menus

- make placecards and seating chart

- put together oot bags and hand them out a few weeks before we leave

- get paperwork translated for Dominican

-finish making CDs for OOT bags

- make a must play songlist and burn onto CDs

- find undergarments to wear under my dress

- pick out hairstyle

- pick a first dance song (we can't agree on one)

- pick father/daughter dance (haven't even discussed this yet)

- get makeup done at sephora

- lose 20lbs

- dress fittings

WooHoo!!! that stuff isn't too bad. the end is near. I'm going to get most of the diy projects done by the end of august, hopefully! I know my October is going to be crazy so i don't want to have much left on my list by then. that's my goal!

smile29.gif I'm getting so EXCITED!

Ok, so here is a quick summary of my night and then I am going to bed! I had to work for another nurse tonight since I am so nice, and I decided to take my booking forms for Photo Souvenir with me to finally fax off. It was retarded when we started but finally got things under control just in time for me to go for supper. I went and had supper and realized when I got home to eat that I had forgot my forms. So I took them back with me and went to relieve for supper in the ER. While I was over there, I faxed off my forms. That felt good to do that. The ER was not busy and finally I got back to my duties.
I was just about to start meds at 8:30pm when the ER nurse yelled at me to get over there. There was a girl that came in having a lot of pain and she was only 33 weeks along. We are a small rural hospital and our first reaction is to get them to the sity ASAP. Well this woman was already 7 cm, so she was going no where! We got her over to L & D and the Dr checked her again and she was 8-9 cm dilated. We called in the second on call Dr who had been working all day until 7pm, and when he got there he checked her and she was fully. We had her start pushing at 9pm and she delivered a beautiful baby boy at 9:34pm. He was doing so great too, but since he is so little, we had him shipped out by air ambulance to the city. I was supposed to be off work at 11:30pm, but finally left there at 12:15am. Not bad, and there was still stuff to do with the Mom that we couldn't do with the transport team all in there, but my Mom came on shift and she was taking over.
My kids were over at my Mom's tonight too, and Justin is still there, but Hailey woke up before my Mom left for work and wanted to come, so she did and I brought her home. Once getting back here, I got online to pay the deposit for our pics and it feels sooooo good to have that done. Just as I started writing this I heard the plane fly over that was taking the baby to the city too. Cute little thing!!!! Okay, Goodnight!
What a story! I hope the baby is doing OK. That is great that you got your photos booked.

I took pics of all my stuff last night, but didn't have a chance to upload them to the computer. I'm hoping FI did it for me today since he is off. I had everything shoved in the back of my closet so I pulled everything out, and forgot about a lot of the stuff that I had bought already! Although, the only things I didn't get pics of were the centerpiece candleholders (clear glass starfish tealight holders and small glass tealight holders) and the chap-stick for the OOT bags. I had started to put things in one of my carry-on suitcases since I was running out of room in the closet and was tired of having things piled in the living room. I know the candle holders are in there and am assuming I threw the chap-sticks in there too since I could not find them.

I should be getting the other stuff I ordered any day now. I still have to get the palm fans, but most sites I had bookmarked with ones I liked are all on backorder and won't let me place an order. I also need to get parasols, but haven't decided if I am just getting them for me and the BMs or for all the ladies. I also sent an email to this guy in Mexico that does wedding favors to find out his prices. I asked for quotes on mini or regular size bottles of tequila, and maracas. I thought of having the maracas as placecard holders and then people can shake those instead of doing the annoying glass tapping thing for us to kiss. My family goes crazy with that so I needed to find an alternate method. I figured if this guy's prices are good I can order from him and that will save me some room in my suitcase and less hassle of bringing more crap down with me.

Maracas would be really cute favors. someone gave them to their guests to shake instead of the glass tapping. she put a really tag with a cute saying on it.

That's funny, i didn't remember half the stuff i bought either. i was going through everything last week and combining all my boxes and kept thinking "Oh i bought that too, totally forgot that" I think thats a sign that i have too much stuff lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
