I hadn't planned to, but the DIY bug bit me and so did our budget. Ha ha! I made our message in a bottle STDs and am working on the invitations (although haven't done anything with them them in weeks). I'll probably do programs and maybe menu cards and place cards. I bought a plain metal bucket for the flower girl so I may decorate that a bit.

Hi everyone!

I think I have most of the major things done, but I really need to start working on the details. So far I have:

booked airfare and hotel

reserved ceremony/reception location

reserved AHR location

booked photographer

sent STD

ordered dress

I'm not getting too stressed yet. Maybe because I don't fully realize all the work I have left!

I am...I just like doing stuff like that so its fun for me. I did my own "passport" STDs and I'm planning on making my own invitations, table-card numbers, menus. I need to get started soon actually...I havent done anything in months, lol.

I am, so far I have made our invitations which came out great they were unique and had that casual island feel (I think) and cost less than $50.00!! I am in the process of making our centerpieces, candles for the oot bags, hankies for our moms, moh, and g. mothers, which I have but I want to dye and sew a message on. I want to also make our menus, place card holders and table numbers. It sounds like a lot but I have some time and they aren't major projects ( I hope). If I can make it rather than buy it and have it still look classy and nice than I will, anything to keep costs down shots.gif

I guess I'm wondering..do you really need place cards and table numbers?? We are only having about 20 guests. I was just hoping we get enough tables to accomodate the number of guests and everyone sits where they like?? Just curious if there is a reason. We are doing an at home reception also so I guess I'll be more worried about that one.

You're right about the place cards and table numbers not being needed. I have less than 30 guests coming. After I wrote that I realized it seems pointless, for me, because of the small group and FI doesn't want them either. Ok I scratched two things off our list of to do's!

I was going to do the seating arrangements & table numbers, but then decided that I won't worry about it for the DW. I might still do it for the AHR, but we will see. I have been to a lot of weddings that didn't have seating arrangements and it always works out fine.

Yeah, I always remember I never cared for seating arrangements at weddings. Probably the only way I'll do it is if we have so many RSVP and a limited amount of room at our reception site so that way there aren't empty seats at tables not being used.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
