Mine is also from Blue Nile and we have been very happy with it! The only thing that I didn't like was their sizing, as mine came way too big and had to get resized at a local jeweler. But the quality of the diamond is spectacular, and I have seen nothing as good here for the price FI paid!

Sooooo...

I was at work today and mentioned wanting to get a different ring. My partner in sales gave me the name to a whole sale jeweler that she uses. Apparently you can only go to them if someone personally recommends you. She has an amazing ring so that's what led to our convo, and she said (like you gals!) def don't buy retail!

Theeeen later I was getting the info from her and a client/friend of ours finds out what I'm looking for and very discreetly hands me a card. It has her name underneath a fine jeweler. I look at her with wide eyes (totally not knowing she works for jeweler - DUHHH!!) and she says to go check out both places but she really thinks her boss can get me what I'm looking for way less than RBs would cost.

So YAYYYYYYY we now have two connections to go check out smile159.gif So excited!!!!! I will def let y'all know what we find out... :)

I was thinking the same thing. Get it made and get exactly what you want at an affordable price. I got my ring at RB and I love it! I can't find a pic though on the Internet and I don't know what brand it is. My FI picked it out himself. And he did a damn good job, let me tell you!!

While I really like them both, I would personally choose the Scott Kay ring. I like the more simple rings with hidden details that only the person wearing it will notice.

Plus if I could do my ring all over again, I would definitely choose white gold (mine didn't come in WG). My ring is platinum and it scratches very easily which gives it a duller finish pretty quickly afer a cleaning/buffing. Also, with the cost difference you can put more towards the focus point of the ring - the diamond! Which is a total win win situation rolleyes.gif

We had a local jeweler measure my ring finger -- 6 was a little too big, 5 1/2 too tight. The 5 3/4 size we ordered from Blue Nile fit me perfectly. I'm with you on the quality, Pisces -- unreal!

JamieLynne, your two choices are BEAUTIFUL! The Scott Kay ring really caught my eye though.

I'm SO excited you have a couple referrals for the jeweler!!! It's true..a lot of them (esp the wholesale ones) kind of have to be referred to you...you can't just walk in and get a ring. SO damn tricky!! lol! But I'm SO excited to see what they can do for you! I bet you guys will find some gorgeous stones...make sure to take a pic of that Scott Kay setting you're in love w/ to see if they can match it for you.

Your ring is going to be beautiful!!! I can't wait 'til it's finally on your finger!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
