mad.gifSo I just got off the phone with Canada Post and I am not a happy camper.

I cannot send any type of charm in the mail attached to my invitations [i wanted to use those pretty little seashell charms] because they are against regulations.pms.gif

Plus- these are the postal requirements for the standard size of mailing in order to only pay the $0.52 of standard rate.

Width- 90 to 156mm-----3.54 to 6.14 inches

I'm not certain what my plan B will be. I really want to put the little charms on them. I'm thinking that maybe if I do, considering that they will be "hidden" in the ribbons, then they shouldn't break anything? And they are so small....

I don't know....

Are you talking about putting the charms on the inside or outside of the envelope? I used little shells (with a hole drilled in each one) attached to the boarding passes with ribbon and then put it in the envelope and sent it with Canada Post and it was fine...

Heather - I also sent some thank you cards through the mail that had shells on them. Come to think of it, I have no idea if they got crushed or not - the only problem I had was the shells made the cards too thick and I had to pay extra postage because it was an irregular size and wouldn't fit through the slot-thingy they have - and therefore had to be hand sorted.

But I think you should still be able to put the little charms on the invites, as long as they are inside the envelope - shouldn't be a problem!

Awesome deal ladies, that's why I love this board.

I'm going to go ahead with the charms. I found an amazing deal on ebay $10.00 for 300 of them, so EVERYTHING is going to get charmed. LoL.

I still think that I'm going to stay away from the shells though. I want to save those for the Thank you cards and the Programs.

Anyone every ordered their shells from Shellhorizons.com before?

Heather, if you have time and aren't in a rush to get your invites out, you could try mailing one to yourself and see if it breaks.

I completely feel your pain though. I was going to send out boxed invites using the PaperSource box mailers. On Papersource's website they say they're 3/4 inch thick which means it would cost $1.15 to mail. But, in reality they're a tiny bit thicker so it was going to cost me about $10 per invite to mail!!! My advice is not to open any invite threads started by US girls so you don't get upset about how much better they have it when it comes to mailing invites...lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
