Is a microphone system for the ceremony/vows necessary?

Recommended Posts

Jackie, the price at dreams cancun seemed ridiculous to me as well, about the same 200 to rent the sound system and get the mic. We decided against it, it seemed like a waste of money for such a quick ceremony. I'm so glad that we didn't because I could hardly even understand the officiant, so I know it wouldn't have mattered to everyone else if it was loud or not, he was still tough to understand.

thats exactly what I thought. We are so at the end of our budget that unless it is an extra that I truly cant live without and is very reasonably priced then its just not going to happen.

We are getting married at the Gazebo at Dreams and will have 60 or so people. I wanted a mic just in case it is windy or the waves make it hard to hear. Also so that the video person can get the ceremony without being right in the way. Our DJ is coming early and setting up a speaker for us and is only charging an extra $90 which I thought was reasonable. So if you have a DJ maybe ask him to assist! If you are renting ipod speakers it should come with a mic set up, maybe you can ask that Dreams set it up for the ceremony and move it to the reception...just a thought.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
