Rose Hall, Montego Bay! UNBELIEVABLE DEAL!!!

Recommended Posts

I have been hunting around on the internet (exhausting) and just found THE best deal for Rose Hall, Montego Bay. At least, I'm thinking it's a great deal from what I've read here on the forum!

It's 4 nights AI (through 12/20/200cool.gif for $457!!! A reported savings of $900 per couple!

Their wedding packages look pretty pricey (minimum $2500!) and so I'm going to get back the exhaustive task of looking to possibly go outside the resort for the nuptuals! Any suggestions would be really helpful!

Oh, and would you believe that the "deal" was through Costco?!! I LOVE Costco! wink.gif

Before I go booking (and I'm chomping at the bit) if there are any negatives to the resort, please let me know!!!

Wow - that is a good deal.

Costco? Do they have a travel rep who can gaurantee this rate for groups?

the only thing i would be concerned about is that Costco bought a certain amount of these packages (like Expedia does) and only has 4 or 6 packages and then once they sell out, your other guests are paying the other price and pissed off LOL

here are some threads i found about Rose Hall

Yeah, I saw that someone else was questioning the 'great rates' on another post... I have no idea about a travel rep and will call Costco tomorrow.

We're thinking ours is going to be a smaller wedding - somewhere between a dozen and 20 (famous last words... lol) I'll be sure to get the details and post them. Keep your fingers crossed!

Still wanting possible location suggestions for the ceremony!

Well, I just got off the phone with Costco and it's sounding like it's doo-able! I can't quite believe it! Right now (in checking the dates we'd require) they have a block (like you said, Alyssa) of TWENTY rooms! (which will be more than enough for our wedding party)

Their highest end room is an Oceanview Deluxe which runs $1095 per couple for the four nights... AI!!

I'm really excited and waiting (very impatiently) to hear back from a TA before booking it. Hey, I might aswell see if she can get a better deal. wink.gif

wow - that is really good news!

double check the booking restrictions and timelines with Costco (ie. when do they have to be booked by and what portion if any, is refundable and by when)

you will unfortunatley find that your guests will like to wait until the last minute to book the trip LOL

also, does it include airfare? if not, how are you going to handle that?

Alyssa, she said that $100 per person would secure the room. I asked if there was only one person per room, would it still be $100 and she said yes! Better than forking over $200 right from the get-go. SO, $100 to secure each room... don't know if it's refundable. Payment in full 45 days prior to the trip...

$913.36 per couple for the 4 nights accomodation (airport transfers included) in the basic room. Also, through the end of June, kids under 12 eat free - and I don't think theres a charge for their accomodation if staying in a room with two adults. Guess that I'll have to see what can be sorted out for December (as my fiancees 10yr old daughter will be travelling with her grandparents)

Wish that bloody TA would call! I want to book already!

No airfare included in that. But that can be obtained for about $5-600, which we would have been expecting to pay anyway.

Do you think that if I put a deposit down on an OV room (under that package) that the hotel might upgrade our room (at a fee, obviously) if we explain that we're getting married/possibly at their resort? (still undecided that as it seems a lot more expensive at the resort)

Would they work with us, do you think? I would like us (the bride and groom) to have some nice digs during our stay (!) and booking through the resort directly is quadruple the price...

Bugger! Just got off the phone with a TA who says this is a REALLY old resort... I just want to pick a bloody place already!

She also said that one has to be in Jamaica THREE days prior to the wedding? I understood it to be 24hrs - though some resorts (for their own reasons) stipulate 48hrs. WTF?

I have heard Rose hall is absolutely beautiful, old or not, I also have heard that they have done renovations. The weddings are suppose to also be beautiful. Your TA may have her own motives for talking you out of it, like she can't beat the costco price. I wouldn't giveup on the idea so soon. I had friends who have been to Jamaica 7 times, tell me this was by far their favourite resort.

I just saw the Rose Hall Resort & Country Club back in December - this is the place you're talking about right?? It's not old - in fact, they just renovated it. It's really nice. We're getting married at the Iberostar Rose Hall because the beach is much better than the Rose Hall Resort. But the Rose Hall Resort has this pretty cool water park and the wedding packages looked really nice. It seemed pretty pricey, but if this deal is legit (and you're not too concerned about the beach area), i'd say go for it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
