I am so sorry you have had such a rough time.... It's such a shame. I honestly am 100% satisfied with Valeria and my "wedding planning" at EDR- but this forum has shown me that, unfortunately, other brides haven't had the same experiences. It seems as if Monica isn't as consistent or easy to deal with as Valeria has been, and the new policies that are affecting new brides are out of control...

I just wish other brides could have had the experience I have had---- it is hard to recommend a bride to the resort, when you aren't sure they will have the same experience. I wish you had the opportunity to work with Valeria and I just wish Karisma would not stoop so slow as to try and enforce these new insane policies to new brides.

I am so sorry!- Please keep us updated!!

I'm sorry that they are doing this to you, I would be super frustrated! And please vent away, that is what we are all here for. I'm so glad your guests and your TA have been so accomodating. It really sucks when your being screwed and people don't support you.

I just don't get EDR, don't they realize how much business they are losing? I agree with Alyssa, I wouldn't even go on vacation there b/c of what they do to other people.

What a bunch of crap! Fight the power! I totally agree with posting your ass off about this - it is shady business practices with the sole intention ripping people off. The only way it will ever change is that they hear an earful about it from all directions...and it affects their bottom line.

Like Shannon, I too have been working with Valeria for my wedding at EDR in December. My other WC, Sandra, had to leave because of a family emergency. Valeria has been amazing! She responds very quickly and seems to be very patient with my many questions. I did have a little "bump" in the road dealing with the outside photographer issue. However, I did inquire about it shortly after we booked our date and had saved emails with their "old" policy. So it has been confirmed to me that I will only have to pay the $500 fee (although $500 is no pocket change for me!). So far, I have had a great experience. It does make me sad to see so many other brides having so much trouble with them. But I am glad that you all are speaking out..........that's the only way these policies might change.

Good luck with changing resort..........how frustrating!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
