So I just found out that they're moving me from the top level to a middle level office as of May 1.

That means I have to give up my carpool and find a new one, train for another new job (I had this one for only a few months), and have a longer commute to work (because it's right downtown and now I have to pay A LOT for parking).

I'm totally bummed, I thought I was doing good in my job, but my boss could tell I was bored out of my trees and that I needed something more challenging. I guess it's a good thing, my pay stays the same, but I'm pissed because I feel like there was nothing I could do about it.

Guess that's what happens when you work in government

I'm sure it will be for the best. I am sorry though... that always sucks. Go home relax and have a glass of wine. Hopefully, you will feel better about it in the morning.

ok. this sucks. but lets look on the bright side, at least you are still employed at all, right? sorry you have to have a longer commute though, i know what that's like and it makes a huge difference in the morning to have a shorter commute. sending you a hug!

Sorry to hear this, maybe your new position will challenge you in ways you are hoping to be.

Thanks ladies. I can't really talk about it with any friends at work until the rest of the office knows (they'll find out tomorrow at a staff meeting), and I'm ready to burst at the seams.

I keep telling myself this is for the best, that my boss saw qualities in me that just couldn't be utilized well here and has found me a better position down the line.

I have half a bottle of wine left in the fridge, looks like liquid supper for me tonight!

I'm so sorry! Just keep thinking about the positives--you still have a job, you still make the same money, etc.

Have some wine and you'll feel better!
