How long did it take you to get down the aisle?

Recommended Posts

I sprinted lol. I think it took like 20 seconds. It was just the two of us and we didn't have any music. We just wanted to hear the ocean and birds when we saw each other for the first time. It was perfect. Anyhoo..I would just have the wedding coordinator or someone fade the music when you reach the alter so you don't have to worry about timing your walk on top of everything else.

By the time I got to the beach (yes I was late - the spa took forever), it didn't take long at all. I think I was down the isle is less than a minute.

I heard the music (Bob Marley) start and just went. I thought I was going to make it down the aisle without crying, but I looked at my now husband's friends and he was a blubbering idiot. So I of course lost it.

I haven't done it yet, but I can't imagine it will take too long cause when I visited the sit, the aisle didn't seem too long to walk up! HA!

We have a guitar trio that will play.

What song are you going to pick, Twinkle?

*lol* usually you see the women cry not the men. Isn't that sweet?

I would guess it took me 30 seconds to a minute. The girls went first to the same song (canon in D). I couldn't see them because I was hidden behind the restaurant. I kept asking my Dad "what's taking so long" and he was peeking to see and he was like "nothing, it's just a long aisle!" It probably only took them 30 seconds or so each but the coordinator waited until my sister was all teh way there before starting my SIL (I thought my SIL was going to start when my sister was like halfway there or soemthing, but really, it didn't matter). So that makes a difference too, whether the people are walking the whole way alone, or whether you have the next people start right behind or a little ways behind the previous ones.

So for my two bridesmaids and me at let's say 30 seconds - 1 minute each I guess than it took like 2-3 minutes total.

I agree that fading the song is the easiest. Waiting at the front more than like 20 seconds for the song to end would be awkward I think.

Great question! I was wondering the same thing. There will only be my MOH and myself walking down the aisle and I chose "How Beautiful" by Twilia Paris. It's about 4 minutes and I figure that's enought time for both of us to walk down. I will have to remember to ask the WC to "fade" the song out wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
