How long did it take you to get down the aisle?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering for you married ladies, how long did it take you to get down the wedding aisle (if you can remember, lol)? I mean, I know you dont know the exact timing, but can you give me an estimate. Like, how long was your wedding song? I am trying to pick a song to walk down the aisle to, but I dont want it to be too long or too short. If the song was a long song, and you made it down the aisle before the song was over, did you just stand there until the song played out or did someone just stop the song?

I remember going to a wedding and the bride walked very fast down the aisle and stood at the altar doing nothing for what seemed like 5 minutes before the song ended. All the guests were a little confused. I know I'm going to be tremendously nervous! So, I'm trying to avoid looking like an idiot as much as possible, lol! Please let me know if I'm not making much sense. huh.gif TIA :~)

LOL!

I totally didn't think of that! I need to check with the coordinator to see how long the aisle is and if we should use the same song for the bridal party & me.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd also prefer to not look like an idiot!

I think it depends on the song. If it is instrumental I sure you could just fade it out without anyone knowing the difference. As for songs with lyrics it might sound funny fading out in the middle of it. 2-3 sounds like a good plan I guess it also depends on your walk. Some resorts I know have a really long way to walk.

Oh my goodness- like 5 secs. I have no idea and I think I just flew up there. I had "Bittersweet Symphony" as my song and I had planned on the beginning instrumental section being long enough. Sure enough, I believe it was. Once I get the video back, I will let you know how long it took me.

Not very long once I got started, maybe a minute, two tops. It was a little rocky starting though, I kept listening for my music to start. I eventually realized that the cd player either wasn't working, or the ocean was drowning out the song, and kept on going.

I'm concerned about this too. We are all (me flower girl/ring bearer and 2 BM's) walking down to one song. It is a 5 or 6 minute song though so I'm hoping 1.we will have enough time, I think we will and 2. The DJ can just fade it out once I'm at the alter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
